Government after that: "we need to keep the current restrictions in place until we have sufficient data to conclude that the vaccine is effective"

Fred Lopez with LSU said that last Friday. So still have to mask up and social distance.

I’m not against taking the vaccine but I’m against taking it right now. If it gets a couple months in and it’s proven effective with no wonky side effects I’ll be more open.

I doubt applicable for this current iteration, but it’s 100% true that Zeke Emmanuel (one of Biden’s main COVID advisors) wants to follow a “fair priority” model and give more weighting to the international community for vaccine distribution. He calls our current view “vaccine nationalism” and I’m not making this up.

Here's a link to a Scientific American article from September interviewing this nutjob:

quote:

We expect national partiality, and there’s even some good moral reasons for some national partiality. But from an ethical standpoint, there’s not a good reason for absolute partiality, where a country covers every one of its citizens before giving any vaccine internationally. There’s a good ethical reason not to have absolute vaccine nationalism.

I posted a link to an article about it earlier in the thread. It has direct quotes and everything. It's not an opinion, it's a fact.

The Biden administration wants to send the vaccine the American people already purchased to "the world" before American's get it.
