Coach O says that Myles Brennan may have surgery to repair and abdominal and hip injury and is likely done for the season.

Wouldn't go as far as confirming either surgery or out for the year, but sounds almost certain.

Figured this. Sucks for Myles but it’s probably the right move, come back strong in 2021.

O said on the teleconference this morning that he doubts he'll be back this year unless something "miraculous" happens.

So yeah, he's done.

Should have done this weeks ago instead of trying to get him to work through it.

I'm assuming the recovery isn't so long that it will interfere with next season so they waited to see if would get better. Getting surgery now vs a month ago probably wouldn't make a difference

I'm also not a doctor though

I think this has quietly been known for a few weeks, but they were just holding out hope for expedited healing.

To some degree you hate it for Brennan. After waiting for 3 years he played relatively well for 2.5 games. Now, he's essentially going to go back into a full blown QB competition unless both of the freshman QB's look awful the rest of the way (assuming there are more games). Plus, if nothing else, this was going to be a year for him to gain playing experience for next season (akin to Burrow in 2018). That's now out the window.

The good news is that assuming one of the freshman stands out LSU SHOULD go into next season with two guys they feel they can win with. The bad is that neither will have a ton of experience, with the freshman QB likely having MORE game experience.

I also think that at least 1 of Brennan, Finley, Johnson will transfer before next season. That's just the way of the world for college QB's and with Nussmier joining the room, someone is going to go looking for a less crowded depth chart.

These freshmen will gain the experience this year and Myles will not get the job back. They're already more talented.

Myles Brennan will be the starting QB at LSU in 2021, barring injury.

It’s not a competition.

I think a lot of people knew this and were attacked for even hinting at it. His injury is severe

Is anyone else concerned that he is this badly injured without any major cause?

Could this be a career ending injury or something he'll never be 100% recovered from?

He's our best qb. We aren't competing for anything. Get healthy to light it up in 21.

Some guy said before he was even announced as injured that he had the same hip injury as Tua, seems reasonable at this point.
