He seemed to get it “mentally” in Dave Aranda’s CoMpLeX defense. Now he looks like you out there.

There is no way he has seen a single game of our 18. No way.

He has great athletic ability, so maybe Kiper sees that LSU players succeed in the NFL when they receive next level coaching. Personally, I think he has great measurables but he seems to lack the instincts which seem to cause him to be out of position to make the plays needed.

I wouldn't be upset if Clark left. I want to see young blood that actually gives 100% every single game. Even if they mess up they are hauling arse

White and Sampah plus our new additions.

Maybe they are looking at his measureables and the fact that he isn't being coached right now.

Maybe he doesn't know Damone changed numbers

Hell, maybe Damone is confused too...

Who does he think is a better WR than chase? Devonta Smith?

I personally think DeVonta Smith is either the best WR that Bama has ever had or equal to the best. He is not as big as Julio Jones or quite as fast as Amari Cooper, but the dude always gets open, piles on yards and TDs, and even when he is covered perfectly, catches everything in sight. Chase is more of a physical freak than him for sure, but I don't think you could go wrong with either one.

Is this evidence that he pulls most of his draft rankings out of his arse?

It's evidence that outside of a very small group, ranters have no friggin idea what they're talking about. Damone Clark is a stud. It's very obvious that he's playing slow this year, indicating to me that he is late on his decisions. NFL scouts understand that this is because of the new system being installed, and probably because of mistakes being made by the linemen in front of him.

He has good physical traits. That is probably as important for NFL scouts as college production. They figure they can teach a player to how to play, read keys, etc. They can't teach him how to be 6'3 245 with decent speed.

This! Danielle Hunter is a prime example. For Clark, scouts may watch the tape and think his subpar play is more about the scheme or the play of those around him. Whatever it may be, NFL coaches think they can fix it. You can't teach 6'3 245 lbs with raw athletic ability.

He has no chance of playing in the NFL! Mel has a history of saying one player is going to be in the HOF and that player is out of the league before the draft ends.

Clark can't fit a gap to save his life. that is not just on Pelini, that's a basic tenet that any nfl linebacker should have.

Man it's not the same at all. Hunter didn't produce but he wasn't a giant, gaping liability and had only played a few years of football.

Ironically he's out for the season because that can only be Waddle

I see him run around, or try to run around, blocks way to often. Sometimes it is because he's got no chance to engage and make a play. Sometimes with no obvious explanation.

My only issue with him is zero fire. Many time a game I see him let a safety or CB or DE make the tackle and he stands behind then so when they break the tackle he is there to push them down or out of bounds, it wears on the DBs big time. And when he isn't there to finish off their scraps the guys will bust a long run.
He has no drive to lay the lumber and more importantly gang tackle. If you can get there and the guy with the ball is still trying to gsinn that extra inch and a whistle had not been blown u knock him tf out and make him wanna fall on the ground next time rather then try and fight for that extra half yard. he just plays soft that's my issue with him. He has all the tools. I bet in the nfl he is allworld and makes multiple probowls somehow

Waddle and chase are neck and neck on mock drafts

Chase is a better WR. However, Waddle is one of the best punt returners that I have ever seen, he can return kickoffs and he is a great threat even doing end arounds or jet sweeps, so he is versatile. The only question will be if his injury affects any of his blazing speed.
