"LSU is on the verge of landing a rivals top 100 prospect. Check in to get the latest."

There is a rivals message board attached, I can only assume this is talking about DDJ considering the other things I have seen and heard

Last week we were dying for safeties. It’s amazing how a week later we will have the top two safeties in the country!

All of the bellyaching this year about the bad season losing recruits...short term issues don’t make a whole lot of difference to most recruits.

Tea leaves certainly looking good here.
As far as ratings go...Ryan and Davis, coupled with the 2 safeties coming on board in '22 = safety position restocked.
Langlois is also a player. I'm a little iffy on Gee If you want to use him close the LOS I'm good with him. If you expect him to cover a lot...nah.

I hear ya, people need to remember, kids love early playing time along with hands on training!! sell it and let's ride boys!!

Goddamn if we manage to land this kid what a RIDICULOUS turnaround that'd be at the safety position. We went from khari gee (who i like) and nobody else to potentially having the top 2 safeties in the country plus khari gee plus langlois (who i think could be a star). Not to mention 2 elite safeties coming in next year.
DBU IS BACK BABY!!!

Good. This puts Hampton and Harris on notice - they have both been lackluster.
Honestly it's disappointing none of them are even tackling machines much less can play the deep ball. There isn't a positive in either ones game.

not being an a-hole but hampton may want to stick to baseball potentialy

Thought Harris was a 5th year senior. I think he’s done after this year. I realize he might be eligible to come back but I doubt he does.

It's weird as hell because hampton was genuinely awesome in the games he filled in for Delpit last year. I came into this year genuinely expecting him to be our next big star at safety, but my GOD he has struggled. He's genuinely afraid to tackle--when he's in a 1-on-1 tackling situation, he legitimately backpedals...Never seen anything like it. Hopefully it's just the yips of some sort--it certainly seems like it's in his head--and he can get it fixed up, because he has the potential to put himself in good spots...it's just finishing the play once he's there that's the issue.

Obviously they have been watching our games because instant playing time will be available in 2021 even with everyone coming back. Can't play much worst than our safeties have played this season.

I haven't seen anything to show me that Hampton will be a top prospect in football
In a month of baseball he showed 5 tool traits, speed, hit for power, with arm from outfield maybe below
At this point he would get drafted higher in baseball

This would be huge.....as big as landing Sage. Very versatile safety class. Can get as multiple as you want with Sage and Davis.

By the way, is this real smoke? Or is it purely BS for clicks? Not one person on 247 or Rivals has a single prediction logged in favor of LSU. Granted, it seems as though Penn state was the early leader and that since then things have been pretty quiet, but still. Anyone have any actual insight here?

I mean this is definitely true. He could've been a first rounder out of HS if not for his desire to play football and related high signing bonus requests.
I'm not saying that Hampton *will* be a good football player--just that after seeing him last season I *thought* he was gonna turn into a stud. But he seems to have gone backwards this year. I'm just hoping that at some point the player we saw flashes of last year emerges. That's a guy I'd love on my team.

Hampton is a LB
A box safety at worst
He’s rarely playing near the LOS
And watching him last year try and hit a baseball, no way he was a 1st rd pick out of high school. That was straight up hot air, but happens pretty often, as 2 sport athletes are generally misclassified
