Let's go ahead and predict how far it will be revised upward months later. I bet it touches 35%.

Just wait. They'll say it's only up this much because of how far it had fallen under the dysfunctional leadership of President Trump

I mean the same corrupt, bought-and-paid-for corporate media, that won't even report on the Biden family corruption, aren't going to cooperate with President Trump taking a victory lap over this great economic news 5 days before the election.

Take that victory lap anyway, Mr. President!

If petty liberal democrat governors and mayors hadn’t prolonged these lockdowns, we’d probably be looking at over 50% GDP growth fir qtr 3.

I don't feel the need to deny or affirm random shite simply asserted about me by shitheads, ever.

You might try asking me my position on "lockdowns" though, Bard.

That's actually not. Go back to being banned

It is. It takes nothing away from Trump to be honest about this kind of thing.

GDP measures like this are measured vs the previous quarter - when you’re being measured to a down 31% figure, you’ve got a baked in advantage.

Trump gets a ton of credit for helping this recovery along despite efforts from his political foes to keep things locked down, but the number needs context.

It would be just as disingenuous to blame him for the -31% figure.

good point about context. has someone yet pointed out that these numbers are annualized?

the economy didn't literally shrink by a third in Q2, nor did it grow by a third in Q3

the quarterlies are more like -9% for Q2 and +7.4% for Q3

(same is true for Q1: it didn't actually shrink by 5%- that's an annualized rate. it was more like -1.3%)
