Just win the game is all he has to do. A QB must win the games.
Miss St was a muligan. Missouri he was hurt but still counts.

AU? no more excuses.

If Finley can:

1. Hit 20+ passes consistently and make at least one 30+ pass in the air.

2. Be able to run more of the playbook.

3. Stay clam playing on the road, especially when things don’t go well.

4. Have no more than one turnover.

If Finley can do all of this, then he should get to compete head to head with Brennan the week of the Bama game to see who can lock the job down. Maybe you even go into that game knowing you will rotate some.

This doesn’t have to be all or nothing, even if Finley has some rough patches this week. He gives us an advantage that Brennan doesn’t inside the 5 to 10 and in 3rd and short. He should be playing in those spots going forward, no matter what.

’m pretty sure I read on here last week than Brennan should be ready to go v auburn per his dad.

Watching TJ play Saturday probably made Brennan’s pain a little less painful

If Finley goes out there and Shred Auburn and leads us down the field to win the game I think There is a real QB talk.

If he has another well managed game where he executes a great gameplan and we run effectively I still think Brennan gets the ball when he comes back.

I hope The coaching take away is that running game and RPOs are good.

None. If Finley beats Bama, then we can talk.

If beating bama is the requirement to win the starting job then we're living in a fantasy world

I don't see any reason you can't utilize both QB's skill sets.
Have a package for Finley. When you need some tough short yardage runs from your QB put Finley in.

nope. Two QB systems don't usually work (and yes, I realize Tebow played effectively in certain packages as a backup, but that's an outlier).

Pick the QB and ride with him. Allow the team to consolidate around one guy.

He got drilled on one of the TD passes to Terrace Marshall that drew a roughing the passer call.

If he and the offense play anywhere close to as efficiently as they did against Auburn then TJ Finley is your starting QB and that should be the end of it. As many points as this offense was scoring with Brennan as well the offense wasn’t very efficient. Brennan was having 50+ drop backs against Mizzou and Mississippi State of course the yards are going to be high but we couldn’t convert on any key downs, poor on 3rd down, poor in red zone.

Finley should be the starter from here on out unless he gives you a reason to bench him. He is clearly much more physically gifted than Myles. He also looked tremendously more comfortable in his first half of live action than Myles did in his first half. Its unfortunate for Myles, but Finley clearly has a higher ceiling and maybe a higher floor as well.

Personally I really don’t care who starts. I just want coach O to handle this carefully because, it’s not just who may enter the transfer portal, but who may not come to LSU if this is handled incorrectly. I’m just believe a player should not lose their position because of an injury.
