He wasn't whiny. Brutal was probably a poor choice of words, other than that, he's correct, it is tough to win the Big 10, and every team does come gunning for Ohio State.

Congrats, you beat a 4-7 D-1AA team by 7. Awesome job.

Hey Bucks did ya'll see that Michigan-Ohio State thing on HBO2 last night?

I thought it was pretty cool. I never realized that Michigan had so many players from Ohio....its kinda like how Texas fans refer to OU as "UT-Norman" cause all of their players are from Texas.

You tell people they need to be in your shoes because playing NW and Minny is brutal... you are whining.

In comparison to losing to 3 of them.... geez hard to discern who should be doing the talking.

Unfortunately, no, I don't have HBO. I've heard it's great, though.

Yeah, Ohio is probably one of the top 5 HS football states in the country, maybe #6. Michigan's probably around 15-20. They get a lot of their guys from Ohio. Desmond Howard, Woodson, Manningham, Les Miles, a ton that I'm not thinking of right now are from Ohio.

When did he say that? You're putting words in his mouth. He said as a whole it's brutal. I don't agree with that word choice, but it is tough to win it.

Week in and week out includes those teams. I believe you faced that devasting 1-2 punch to open your big 10 schedule before facing those MAC destroying Boilermakers.

A few words come to mind to describe that... brutal and tough do not lead the way.

They may well beat OSU in the 'shoe this year. Hell they were 11-1 two yers ago...and got robbed at Michigan.

And they have returned to the spread offense (like 2006) this year.

Look guys, back off of Boeckman. He made a slip of the tongue. What he meant so say was "It's BRUTAL getting our asses handed to us by SEC teams in bowl games every year."

Well stated. Now, for some facts...

Carlos Hyde Naples (FL) Naples

Michael Brewster Orlando (FL) Edgewater

Travis Howard Miami (FL) Dr. Krop

Etienne Sabino Miami (FL) Dr. Krop

Duron Carter Fort Lauderdale (FL) St. Thomas Aquinas

Is that South enough for you SEC?

Actually, it helps to illustrate the point. 10 years ago, LSU and other SEC schools used to have to worry about the top players leaving for other schools in the Big 10 and Notre Dame. Last year, only one of the top players from Louisiana left for the Big 10 (Penn State), and that was simply because of family ties to the university.

All of the players that you listed are from one state, Florida, which has enough talent to support a dozen schools easily.

Ohio State has done a great job of recruiting, that isn't the point. The comment was directed to the Big 10 as a whole. One or two teams will get the needed talent, and then...?

Of the players in this year's Scout 300, roughly 170 of them are from the South and Texas. Of those, only 6 have committed to Big 10 teams: 3 to OSU, 2 to Michigan, and 1 to the Illini. Only 1 has signed with Notre Dame. Will more sign? Certainly. There's enough talent there, so there will always be leftovers. But compare that with the number of those in the top 100 who have already committed to SEC schools. Even if OSU lands Jamaal Berry, The cream of the crop is staying home.

As for the guys that you listed (and I've actually added to your list):

Carlos Hyde Naples (FL) Naples - Scout 300 #189
Justin Green, Louisville, KY - Scout 300 #202
Duron Carter Fort Lauderdale (FL) - Scout300 #231 (...and his dad played for OSU)
Michael Brewster Orlando (FL) - Scout 300 #23 (2008)
Travis Howard Miami (FL) - Scout 300 - Not Ranked (3 Star)
Etienne Sabino Miami (FL)- Scout 300 #39 (2008)

Let me save you the 8 pages. A QB of a team that plays in a crappy conference and has been easily handled in the championship game (only making it there because of conference weakness) is trying to convince the world playing in the sucky conference is brutal.

That should cover it.
