I started drinking heavily after that play. Music City Bowl, IIRC. It was that crap performance that caused Kirk Ferentz to name CJ Beathard the starter for next season some two weeks after the bowl and Iowa went in to have an undefeated regular season and heartbreaking loss to Michigan State in the BTCG the next year.
Yeah, KF did a Purge of Iowa that off-season and got results. Now the malcontents are coming out screaming racism. F those guys. They're not Hawkeyes. They've been disowned.

Was that ruled a fumble? If so, forgive my potential ignorance, but how would that be a fumble and not an illegal forward pass?
