many places have no pro teams and based on what was on TV as a kid etc fav teams are chosen. louisiana had nothing but saints one the jazz left in late 70s. were people here expected to not have a mlb or nba or nhl team?

I always figured the Braves were the team of the south as there wasn't anything else. I understand the WGN aspect, but the passionate nationwide Cubbies fans make me laugh. Winning the world series was the best thing, though, as they are not really a big deal anymore.

living in New Orleans, my father was a Cardinals fan. because the games were on the radio. I'm a Reds fan because late 70s/early 80s they were always on TV. Brother is a cubs fan, WGN mid 80s.
