Political Pet Peeve in the work place.

True Story. I have a number of friends that work for BP. He told me that the layoffs and cuts at BP were so severe that even black lesbians were at risk.

BP is full of soi boys, lesbians, some tranny's and but overall the younger people there were in the tank for Obama.

Truth. I've very good friends who work in oil. They indicate all the time they cannot drive the car they want (hybrid or EV) because they'd get judged mercilessly, but they sure will vote for Biden who wants to end their industry, and they certainly don't mind taking money from the industry.

When my employer makes us take the Trump of Allegiance every morning.

I wanted to say something but I rather not end up at HR again... also in this economy I don’t need to give them any reason to know my name. I’m voting for Trump, My Job, and America. Don’t need them firing me.

The oil industry was at its recent peak when Obama was the president.

Oil industry, although gets short-term benefits from political volatility, in the long term depends on stability in global politics. Since Trump has taken office, he's waged trade wars, tried to imposed travel bans and maligned our trade/diplomatic allies.

Large E&P companies have a diverse group of people from all over the world and Trump's rhetoric against immigrants is off-putting for many in the industry.

Biden campaign has promised to not ban fracking, and even if they backtrack, they'd only ban it on federal lands which is a small fraction of current unconventional/frac plays. They can impose new regulations and make it harder though. That is the only reason O&G folks need to worry about a Biden presidency imo.

People in the oil industry have figured out that the industry will continue to shrink. So, they're acquiring skills that can be transferable to other industries. I'm saying this because I'm in the same position.

I work for a company were 85% of my co-workers work in the field or from home. Our CEO and the rest of the executive team are very Christian oriented. They make it a priority to hire veterans when possible.

About a week after the George Floyd incident they sent an email out along with posting it on the intranet site talking about inequalities in this country and they’ll be using their voice to support all minority employees in the company. The email subject line was “Black Lives Matter” and they listed the BLM website link at the bottom to donate or study...whatever. I dismissed it cause everyone was losing their mind at that moment with over-reacting.

Then the 4th of July comes around and they post nothing about it on the site or send anything out like they do in years past. I mean they’ve made a huge deal out of the 4th in years past. It was almost as if it was disrespectful to bring up the 4th of July.

Since then I’ve noticed little things on calls or in teams meetings that I normally didn’t pay attention to in the last. I’m surrounded by liberals and I never even noticed. I should have known they were liberals cause they don’t believe in reviews.

What’s funny is the new CEO is a known womanizer throughout the company. He’s slept with a large number of the female staff including a number of the women being pushed to key leadership positions. He’s not the only BP leader doing this. The guy that runs the onshore business has is girlfriend as his top assistant, who he left his wife for.
