What pellet feed do y’all recommend on the recteq?

Whatever it comes with. You may need to adjust based on your environment but if you need to adjust you can contact their customer service

Anyone pulled the trigger on the Pit Boss KC combo? The reviews seem hit or miss

It doesn’t really matter. I kept mine on the factory setting until it started getting really hot in central MS, then i set the feed rate to the next to lowest setting because my grill was overheating a bit. Now that it has started to cool off, I’ve turned it back up. You’ve just gotta play with it a bit.

Did it throw a random code on the screen before it did that?

I had it happen once, but cleaned the burn pot and it has happened since. I have also been bringing it up to temp a little slower from smoke to 200 then to 250 then 300, and then setting the temp for the cook.

I have a traeger pro 780 and I haven't had 1 problem. I also do vacuum it out almost every use. Did you prime the auger/smoker after assembly (refer to your owners manual)? I belong to quite a few groups on social media and its amazing how many people I see having problems w pellet grills. Even more incredible how many I've seen engulfed in flames.

Love my 590. Would get the 700 if I had to do again. 2 medium briskets were about the max I could do, and I'd like the space. That being said, it's amazing grill with outstanding customer support. Spoke to the owners when I called their customer service number to discuss some questions I had before buying.

Order the RT700 for $1200 and you will NOT be disappointed...I researched pellet grills for 3 months before I ordered.
Best cooking device I have ever purchased.
Not one issue!
