That means she didn’t get in med school right after undergrad, and had to get a bullshite master degree while studying for the MCAT. If it was combined with med school, it would be a masters of public health and not sociology.

Avegno actually didn’t realize she wanted to be a doctor until later - she thought she could help people with her sociology degrees - but then realized she could help more people as a doctor
I don’t agree with the shutdowns, however, her heart is in the right place and she does work with ‘she who will not be bullied’ who is actually one of the biggest bullies of all

I think she just wanted to help people the best way she knew how
Of course, this has backfired tremendously with some of the stupid shite she says - although I do have to admit I was surprised she took the city doctor job to begin with - although she probably thought she could help more people

I know it’s cool to assume bad things about people we disagree with on the OT but this is disingenuous. Lots of docs go to Med school later after initially pursuing something else.
FWIW I met Avegno in Med school there and thought she was a pretty stand up person. I do think it’s weird that the public health director has no public health or infectious disease training, though.
