I would look at it statistically and age wise. Go to the number one defense in the nation over the last 3 years (with a few caveats) and hire from the list. Wouldn't hire anyone over 45. Hire someone energetic, and exceptionally smart.

I'm with you. May do many studies from different years of experience. Great place to start. Detailed game evaluations and opinions from the competition is useful.
I know nothing of who's out there but I may start with a sit down talk with Jabril Cox. NDS has been kicking arse for decades. I'll bet they've seen 5 wides over the past half a century. They are doing what's right as well as ANABODY!

Bob Shoop always had MS State’s D playing tough. Think State’s D did a good job on LSU’s offense when LSU was firing on all cylinders.

Just throwing this out there... But Blake Baker from Miami? I know yesterday they got beat up pretty good against Clemson, but I watched some of all 4 games they have played this year and they are physical.. And they don't leave WRs completely open throughout a game.

The issue with Blake is Manny is a former DC so who is calling the plays. Also the acc is weak outside of Clemson and Miami had a easy schedule up until the Clemson game

That was 15 yrs ago and teams were loaded and coached by Saban. Go back and look at the talent in 05,06,07 on D. It’s criminal we only won 1 title.
Bo is a dinosaur amd should go the way of the dinosaur.
