Poured a 2x4 pad around 5”to 6” thick for an outdoor fireplace. Weight of fireplace is 1300lbs. The weight is carried along the edges of the fireplace as the center is hollow. The base of the fireplace is 23”x47”. How long should I let the pad cure before putting the fireplace on it, weight carried in edges?

ETA poured pad on Tuesday, no steel.

When you can walk on it put the fireplace on it.

Depends on concrete strength/additives and reinforcement....

depends on psi of concrete poured and psi of load exerted upon it

if i was at my office i would post curing strength curves. its pretty cool how fast you get to desired strength and how parabolic the cure curve really is.

Concrete reaches its design strength at 28 days. Typically construction requires 75% of the design strength to be achieved before loading a foundation.

Pretty sure basic Quickcrete is 3,000psi strength. If I assume the edge of fireplace is 3 inches wide and all the load is over 23 inches that’s only 18psi. As others have said, once you can walk on it, you should be good. If you are worried, wait 7 days.
