He has LSU at #19, which is respectable but we should be higher, and everyone knows it.

He says:

quote:

Recruiting allegations overshadow Will Wade's program, though this roster has plenty of talent. Trendon Watford is a legitimate SEC Player of the Year candidate. Ja'Vonte Smart and Darius Days are reliable veteran scorers, and Charles Manning may be called on for greater production. Cam Thomas is a highly regarded diaper dandy coming in. The Tigers have potential and the NCAA looking over their shoulder.

He’s been on local radio a few times badmouthing us. So, yes. I believe he writes his own stuff.

The crack at WW is expected, but #19 feels pretty fair to me for a preseason rank. We finished last year as a projected 8/9 seed. Obviously should be better, but I'm not complaining about top 20 preseason rankings. CBB preseason rankings are always way off anyway

19 is pretty reasonable to me but no reason to bring in the recruiting allegations.

This.

LSU was somewhat up and down last year because of the defensive woes. So until they prove they can defend, I think there is a reasonable cap on expectations. Also, LSU didn't really fix what (at least according to the board) was it's biggest "weakness", the lack of a quality big man.

In the SEC, UK gets the benefit of the doubt. They've earned it. But I find it a bit ridiculous that Wade still doesn't get the benefit of the doubt. All he has done since he's been at LSU is take a God awful program and make them respectable in year 1. Win a loaded SEC in year 2. Finish T-2nd in year three in a "down" year (relative to 18-19). Yet, LSU will be picked to finish 4th, 5th or 6th behind teams likes of Bama (a perpetual underachiever) and Tennessee whose coach is good, but has a career history of failing to meet big expectations.

He may not write it but don't you believe that he proof reads it?

I think so too.
I also would not be surprised in the least bit if we do something special this year. These newcomers are going to be better than most expected.

Why does everyone ride LSU’s dick over this so much but no ones cares about Arizona or Kansas who actually was hit with violations and hasn’t been punished yet.

frick Dickie V. When I was a kid, I used to love him. This was in the 90s, but I remember going to my first LSU basketball game in which he was calling and I was pumped up... But during the 2018-19 season I started to resent him.

At first, I thought maybe I was being biased and taking the things he was saying about Will Wade and the LSU basketball program out of context, but then it got to the point where it seemed like he had it out for LSU. Then when I heard him on Jordy and Tbob's show and he was shitting all over Will Wade, but then turned around and defended Rick Pitino I was convinced you have to buy his support.

I have no proof, I might be completely off base, if a real investigation was done into every program going back to let's say... 1990 - current, I would be willing to bet that Pitino would be in the top 3 in the amount of recruiting violations that was actually committed.

When news came out about Duke possibly paying Zion Williamson, he did not say a single word about it. And I seriously believe Dick V played a role in Moussa Cisse committing to Memphis over LSU.

He was pretty much committed to LSU until DV started tweeted shite about LSU's program and then all of a sudden Cisse flips.

If you call him out on anything he just plays dumb, talks about all he does for the Jimmy V foundation an everything he has accomplished. So my conclusion is... Coaches who donate a lot to his foundation gets his protection in the media and vice versa.

His agenda isn’t even well hidden anymore. He’ll do or say anything for Pitino, K, Calipari etc. I can’t believe his employer would let him continue to publicly say and tweet such things without reprimand, but ESPN is a total joke as well.
