Anybody try out the RTIC Ultra-Light Hard Cooler yet? Any good? Comparable to heavier versions?

If you mean crappy glue that is only rivaled by even crappier zippers, I'd say yes, very comparable

Hard coolers don’t have zippers.

I have been having mine since July. This one is noticeably lighter than my Yeti 65. I'm happy with the purchase.

Civil, have you noticed performance is better/worse/change not noticeable due to (what I can assume is) less foam or different type of foam?

The times I have used it the most have been for beer so I was constantly in and out of the ice chest. They did something with the insulation on the ice chest to make it lighter IMO.

injection molds tend to be more fragile than roto-molds, if that sort of thing matters to you.

I am assuming that the regular hard side coolers are roto-molded versus the ultra-light being injection molded?

Looks comparable to the equivalent Engel Cooler.

I might want something like that if I needed a larger one to take camping for several days. For now, I'll keep using my colorless rotomolded one with the pig nose feet at the bottom.

I have one and it is pretty light compared to other similar models. Ice retention has been pretty damn good too.

RTIC Basecamp

Looks like RTIC has come full circle and is knocking off Igloo now.

I tried to support RTIC by buying a soft cooler, backpack cooler and 65 quart hard cooler. They all SUCK!

I’ve had convenience store styro coolers that hold ice better than the 65.

It’s tempting, but don’t do it.

I been eyeing up this cooler for a light weight alternative. I never use my roto artics because they are heavy and the space is lacking. I never need ice retention that long.

Then just go back to an igloo marine cooler for $40 and your set. No way would I pay $200 for naked foam.
