If we take your argument at face value, we need to start arresting people who sell alcohol and sugary products
Obesity and alcohol are much bigger threats to kids

Alcohol
Tons of processed sugar in EVERYTHING
anti-depressants and benzos handed out like candy
Those three things are a much bigger and active threat to kids than weed
The only difference is there are taxes and money to be made for politicians, big pharma, and lobbyists with these.
