This seems like a healthy dynamic.

That documentary did not provide one piece of info that hasn't been talked about or seen on any other show. Waste if time.

You sir, are being idiotic.
There will never (never, ever) be any kind of justifiable excuse for the premeditated throwing of one’s own preschool children to their death into a tank of crude oil...

Are you a psychopath? Many people are married to spouses they can’t stand. Or that they later find out are crazy... 99.9% of them don’t kill the spouse and children and throw them in an oil tank.
This.
My wife is batshit nuts and while I love her I do not like her. I have yet to ever think of killing her.
That’s..I’m not insane.

That's not how he killed them.

I thought the value of the documentary was seeing how he acted when they really started suspecting him, the interaction with the polygraph taker when she tells him it would be dumb to take the test if he did it and then when he was told he failed it provided insight into how one acts in that situation.
That’s what I found most interesting, that he committed one of the most heinous crimes imaginable yet obviously had some sort of conscience by how poorly he lied about not being involved.

Idk if it indicated he had a conscience, or if he was just a dumbass, thought he could beat it, or just couldn’t say no. In his interactions with his wife, he just basically said “yes dear” until he went full psycho. Maybe he took it because they told him to. In their videos and texts, he seemed unable to stand up for himself or set any kind of boundaries with her.

Plus, the way i saw it, when the wife told him he would never see the kids again, he believed her. What she says goes, throughout their marriage. At that moment in his twisted mind, they were as good as dead to him. Plus when the one walked in, she became a witness. I don’t think he had the mental capability for a conscience. He just wanted to be done with it and start his new life. They said he contacted a real estate agent to sell his house. He wanted to start fresh.

Damnit, this thread is like a roller coaster
I wasn't aware of this story, so when I turned it on the other night, I thought they were just setting it up to make you think he did it and it was actually going to be someone else.
So with that in mind, I had the same thoughts as some here that the chick was incredibly bossy and honestly insufferable. This was without knowing he killed her.
I usually hate busybody in-laws that hate their children's wives without reason (some have reason, many don't).. but this film made it pretty clear they had likely legitimate reasons.
Then the story unfolded and none of the above even mattered because you don't MURDER people (and children, dear god!) over this.
Ultimately, crazy attracts crazy. To be with someone capable of doing what he did, you have to be a bit of a crazy person too. I have a feeling they had a toxic relationship the entire time they were together.
But wow. What a horrible story, what a deranged person.

I find it interesting that the argument is she was crazy enough to contribute to his poor mental health and doing it.
But couldn't we argue that his poor mental health (clearly, he had issues) could have contributed to her being the way she was?
Perhaps, but at the very beginning, it was explained Shanann met him on Facebook, already had one failed marriage, had health problems, admitted to not wanting a boyfriend, and did whatever she could to give him a reason to leave. She finally relented because he kept putting up with her shite.
Shanann alone didn't make him a monster, but she appeared to be a mess before they ever got married. And the glimpse we get of their relationship suggests she didn't become less difficult after getting married.
