It’s just tough to see people on this board pump up mediocrity (at best).
Orgeron, Brennan, Stevens. These guys are just sub par and that’s fine, you’re not gonna hit a HR on everyone. But having to see ridiculous statements like “jacoby Stevens is a 1st round talent” are flat out absurd. That’s just insanity. He’s borderline not even draftable. Can’t let these nonsensical comments go by.
I said it all Summer with Brennan.
Some LSU players just aren’t Very good. Stevens is one of those players. Like last year, he was the worst player (starter) on a great team and defense. Fine. Just appreciate him for showing up and helping out. But that’s all he is, he’s acceptable as your worst guy on a NCAA level team.
His coverage though may be the absolute worst I’ve ever seen in my life. His coverage skills are atrocious

Stevens isn’t going to be drafted as a DB who is expected to cover outside receivers. He isn’t going to be drafted as DB period.
He’s not “tackling safety” as you put it, either. That isn’t a position. Every player on defense tackles people.
He’s an athletic guy who has bulked up to be 2nd level defender who can get sideline to sideline in the run game, be physical enough to match up with tightends in the middle of the field, and effectively rush the passer situationally.
I don’t know who has less football IQ, you or HTX.

Agree. People seem to forget Delpit wasn't a 1st rounder and is/was a better NFL prospect. 2nd-3rd is about right for Stevens.
Zzuxz or whatever has to be a troll or has some seriously pent up aggression towards Stevens. So many parts of his posts that can be dissected and shown to be incorrect. He obviously never saw Karnell Hatcher in coverage if he thinks Stevens is the worst he's ever seen.
