In a normal season it's very hard to replace that much talent from what may have been the best college football team ever (or at least in the discussion), let alone a Heisman Trophy winning QB and both coordinators. Now, throw COVID into it, no Spring practice, no normal Summer session, interrupted Fall camp. However, Leach and Mississippi State had the same 2020 factors, but that's a solid team that brought back a lot from last year and added Leach.

When is the rest of the SEC going to stop with this bullshite SEC SEC SEC mantra and start demanding answers? Why does Alabama open up against Mizzou? It's going to get interesting, however. This will be the first year in the Saban era when Alabama plays more than 3 straight P5 teams, and they won't have byes or chickenshit Saturdays before playing LSU, Auburn, or Georgia (but the only team in my lifetime more overrated than UGA is TAM).

Bama gets their ten game schedule and they still set it up to benefit the Tide.
They never play tough teams back to back.

Add a QB and we'd be ok with upside as the season goes along.

Without a QB, you are right.

MSU isn't Clemson or Alabama. They are very average players that were better coached.

Definitely, but the thing you’re missing is experience. LSU had more talent on the field than MSU, but MSU had way more experience.
