Why not let the rest of us move on with our lives though? If you are high risk, stay home. Nobody else really cares anymore

Interesting that I, personally, haven't heard of someone trying to sue another because them thinking they got it at a certain place.

I have seen a lot of ppl shame the frick out of businesses on social media, which I'm sure has cost a business/restaurant money. # ridiculous

This has to be a troll.

So how is a cotton mask your grammie made you supposed to filter out a virus again, Dr Nurse? I was making fun of the stupid logic that everyone should wear a mask, since they act like you wearing a mask will stop the virus from spreading. So if that is true, which I already said it is bullshite, then why don't you Karens and Darens just turn your mask inside out? Obviously you Karens and Darens believe the mask can stop the virus, which is why you want me and everyone else to wear it, so we can't spread it (LOL). Like I said, if that were true and factually sound, then why don't you Karen's and Daren's turn your mask inside out (since the inside of the mask can filter out virus particles according to you Karens and Darens)?

But then you see how you said this whole logic chain is stupid? Well it is, but then again this is the type of logic that these people want to force onto everyone. Again, ain't no cotton mask going to filter out a virus, and the water droplet argument is bullshite as well. If damn cotton fabric can filter out virus in water, then why isn't there more water filters out there that can filter out viruses? People in 3rd world countries would love this cotton technology as it should be cheap and viable for them to get clean drinking water.

You really do science don’t you?

You mean science like this:

quote:

This study is the first RCT of cloth masks, and the results caution against the use of cloth masks. This is an important finding to inform occupational health and safety. Moisture retention, reuse of cloth masks and poor filtration may result in increased risk of infection.

Also how does the science say that a cotton mask is going to filter out virus particles? Most people aren't wearing a N95 mask, which is the lowest grade mask people should be wearing, but most people aren't. Even the N95 mask, you should be properly fitted for it, and if you have facial hair, it fricks up the whole filtration process. But hey I don't be do science right.

Again you fail to grasp the use of a cloth mask in the public.

And yeah, medical workers in a healthcare setting shouldn’t wear one to protect themselves from the virus at work (which is all your 6 year old study you posted showed).

If you want actual protection from the virus in a healthcare setting , wear at least a level 2 rated ASTM surgical mask and eye protection and gown and gloves if having actual contact with the person (that’s what we wear at work). N95 or higher type masks are only needed in the situations where the virus may be temporarily aerosolized (intubations, performing CPR, patient getting certain treatments, etc). The virus is not truly airborne like other airborne viruses. Ones like TB and measles, where the virus is very tiny and light and can float in the air for very long periods of time infecting others. COVID is still larger droplets than those. So while it can be temporarily aerosolized on the situations I mentioned....it will fall to the ground.

Wearing the cloth mask in public helps lessen the spread to others (notice I say lessen and not prevent 100%) by helping to contain the tiny droplets that come out of your mouth and nose when you talk, breathe, sneeze, cough, sing, shout, etc. etc. The basis of the cloth mask is to protect others from you. If you want more protection....you need more than a cloth mask.

If everyone in public is wearing a mask and social distancing and staying home if sick, it does help lessen the spread.

Again no one has ever claimed a cloth mask 100% protects you, nothing protects you 100% in regards to PPE.

bars that opened in my area and were caught lost their license to operate for 30 days after bars are allowed to open. Financial liability may be the wrong term but they lost more money

Shake the haters; I don't wear one unless I'm at work (where it's required... and I like to eat and pay my mortgage).

As an easily passed mandate that actually does nothing for a virus that does nothing to 99% of the population, but it makes hyperventilating emotional twats feel "safe" so they're not constantly pestering state and local officials to OMG DOOOOOOOOOO SOMETHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING!

quote:

it does help lessen the spread.

We flattened the curve. Why in the frick is this even a concern anymore? The minute we actually flattened the curve and then the goalposts were moved is all the indication you need this is nothing but political horseshite. Then after those goalposts were moved, they were moved again when deaths and hospitalizations stopped being the scare stat and instead total positive cases were hyped.

We meet a metric, then the politicians move the metric. Rinse and repeat.

Why is that?
