Are y’all still arguing about who has been through hurricane force winds?

Y’all were arguing that, and when it shifted at 10am I boarded up my windows. I’m now finished and y’all are still bickering

Always heard Andrew spun off a ton of tornados. I was really young, but one supposedly came right near our house according to all the old men who talked.

Remember the destruction vividly. Not sure if Andrew threw off more tornados than normal or something.

Andrew threw off several tornadoes in Morgan City. MC City hall had a wind gauge rated for 200mph and it was ripped off the building

I bet less than 50 posters on the site had actually experienced sustained hurricane force winds

I rode out Andrew in Houma, Gustav in BR and I think Isaac in Houma. I was pretty young for Andrew though.

Andrew and Gustav were the worst in BR man, the worst. Those Tropical storm force winds were terrifying.

My guess for the 4pm update is no real change in landfall position. They may alter angle of approach or any bend to the NNE but even then, I doubt it. Models shifted ever so slightly East. The biggest shift came from the Euro but the NHC was already well East of it.

1992 was my 2nd year at LSU and the first hurricane I'd been in. Sure seemed like the wind was more than 70mph to me.

Same. Drunk in Kirby watching it blow the roof off the IHOP.

I'm so jealous of everyone here who has experienced hurricanes before.
