-It’s game 2 and we never play well in September so any chicken little thinking is foolish. But there are a lot of valid concerns.
-Thru 2 games, only Alvin Kamara has been great. Marshon Lattimore has looked really good despite the couple passes completed on him yesterday. Demario Davis has been good too. But only Alvin has been great and he’s been incredible.
-The offensive line has been very average. Idk why. Maybe Peat is still hurt(shocker) and they’re waiting on Ruiz to be ready. They have to be dominant.
-Emmanuel Sanders needs to get going ASAP. He said he’s only at about 85% comfortable. Either him or the coaches need to figure this shite out because he’s MIA.
-Drew Brees has been bad. I don’t think it’s necessarily arm strength, it doesn’t look much different than the last 2 years imo. He’s missing balls he’s never missed and he’s surprisingly skittish in the pocket.
-Cam Jordan should have had 8 sacks last night. Massively disappointing.
-Malcolm Jenkins thus far has been a downgrade from Vonn Bell.

Green Bay is a big game, huge. Pull off that win and I think we easily go 4-1 into the bye week with MT coming back and the offense getting in sync and we’ll be in great shape.

That concludes my ted talk

The defense won the Tampa game.

The offense lost the Raiders game.

They were on the field the entire game bc we couldn't sustain any offense, especially in the 2nd half. The Raiders have a good offense, but a below-average defense.

Against a below-average defense, we should have possessed the ball more and scored more points. Inexcusable offense last night.

I kinda agree Billy.

I still think the defense will be good. As much hate as Davenport gets, and I understand, he’ll be a big boost when he comes back.

Offensively, I thought Sean’s playcalling was way better and I thought execution was way better early on. Like I said, Sanders needs to figure it out but TreQuan was very good. Cook got off to a slow start last year too, I think we’ll see more and more Trautman and he looks like a natural pass catcher. We need more Deonte with the ball in space and more fricking Taysom Hill catching the ball. He is a matchup problem, throw him the ball more than let him play QB and in the backfield.

Drew looks like crap through two games. CSP made no decisions last night that helped Drew or the team win.

But sometime in the 2nd quarter it looked like the team was done. Little emotion and they all looked like they had not slept in weeks.

Very poor showing by the boys in black.

This - I still think we are a Top 5 ish stop unit overall. The front 7 has been really strong. The secondary has been decent really, just they were on the field too long and had a few mental lapses on 3rd downs.

I get that the offense couldn’t sustain a few Of the drives they had, but they went down the field on multiple possessions.

The defense couldn’t do a darn thing. The only time they even thought about getting a stop after the first Q, that wasn’t a fluke fumble, was at the very end where Jenkins gave the game away on a DPI call.

I still think D/SPT is the strength of the team, but it was a piss poor effort by all involved. Get more stops and those few punts aren’t as crucial.

You’ve basically summed up my thoughts. The game was over lastnight when they found Waller could exploit any matchup we had. Davis handled him well but that opened too many other holes. I’m pretty concerned about that going forward. Jenkins or Gardner Johnson (both of whom played like shite) have to step up.

Yeah it was a poor showing on 3rd down mostly. 1st and 2nd down were good, which makes me think the 3rd down performance was a bit unlucky. When they fricked up, they REALLY fricked up tho

The Lattimore derp was inexcusable on Edwards. The PI was ticky tack on Jenkins that iced the game. The 3rd and 10 TD they gave up on the running play that scored a TD was a disaster. The Zay Jones TD on Marcus Williams was just a perfect pass that was probably lucky bc Carr was throwing off his back foot.

The D just had way too many blowup plays. The opposite of clutch.

It’s pretty alarming that nobody between Jenkins, PJ Williams, and Ceedy Duce could slow down Waller. But on the other hand, Waller didn’t have many explosive plays, just a bunch of short to average gains.

Waller is a special player that we really won’t see the rest of the season besides Kelce in KC. But those guys *should* be TE stoppers and they were not.

I’m optimistic about this roster, but Brees’ struggles combined with Thomas’ absence does make me hesitant.

The saving grace is that it will be very hard to miss the playoffs in a year with 3 wildcards.

Yeah agree - I don't think there's much you can do unless you drop your LBs in coverage there - if you do that you'll give up chunks in the run game.

It's hard to cover good TEs in the league, especially in the middle of field. They are like big WRs and really hard to contain in man-to-man situations.

they got off to great start last night but like the rest of the team kinda flat lined.

I'd like to see more of a running game myself. It wasn't bad last night with Kamara but Murray needs to be used more in my opinion.

he was brought in to replace Ingram and he sure saw more time than what Murray has. They are the same age if im not mistaken (Ingram,Murray) so it isn't some tread-on-the-tires issue i wouldn't think.

it could also help out the D.

lost the time of possession battle last night and almost in week 1 too.

They were on the field the entire game because they kept giving up 10+ play touchdown drives

Right. In general you’d be ok with a teams only receiving threat being a TE with an 8.6 ypc. That’s why I didn’t have much issue with the defensive gameplan.

I know, but you have to think some of the 3rd down (and 4th down) plays will even out in the long run.

We were lights out on 1st and 2nd down, and the Raiders just clutched the shite out of us on 3rd down (or we fricked up royally). It was a weird game.
