I haven't followed the NBA too closely, but have more so now that the Pels have made a lot of their recent changes. I have never been a Lakers fan, esp. now that they have tampering Lebron and AD. Seems the Bucks or Clippers were gonna have the best odds of preventing the asterisk award to the Lakers. For those who follow more closely, anyone left have a chance of beating them?

None of the teams left can beat them. The bubble results couldn’t have been better for them.

The Nuggets have come back from 3-1 down twice. On the other side the Heat are straight up outworking teams. They have hustled their way to a 10-1 playoff record by beating some of the best teams in the East, including the Eastern Finals favorite Bucks.

I wouldn't coronate the Lakers yet, Denver and likely the Heat will not be easy wins with the way they are playing.

Told my buddy the Nuggets had a chance at the Clippers if they got lazy. Lakers may be even more entitled and lazy than them so don't rule it out. The difference is AD putting Nugs in foul trouble aka refs.

I'm not sure where to start about the Heat, the right mindset is a scary weapon.

I like the Nuggets and all but I don’t see anyone on that squad that can stop Lebron. The team that has the best chance of stopping the Lakers have to be able to contain Lebron without help.

The only teams left in the playoffs that have the players to do it is Miami and Boston.

I’ve never been a big believer in the Nuggets. I’m still really not. But Murray and Jokic have been uncontainable in the Bubble. It’s not can they stop LeBron, it’s can Murray and Jokic be hot enough for it to not matter.

I haven't looked at any betting sites, but I'd give the Lakers above a 75% chance at this point. I'll be very surprised if anyone else wins the title.

Better question, do we as Pels fans care? Is one outcome better for us than another?

Many people are hoping AD leaves and they fall apart immediately. That seems like wishful thinking to me. I think a more likely key to good things for the Pels is LeBron staying too long, doing a Kobe farewell tour season, and clogging up the cap, keeping the Lakers from getting someone like Dame to pair with AD. We know AD alone or even with a Jrue level player isn't a guaranteed playoff team.

We don't have to worry about them being bad until 2022.

I think the worry is that winning a championship attracts better players to join them, keeping them good even past Lebron retiring.

The draft pick in 2021 will be important. I hope they have a down year next season.

It’ll be interesting because Nuggets can through bigs at Lakers for all the talk of Lakers size advantage. Nuggets have Milsap, Joker, Plumlee, and MPJ. I don’t think it will be as easy in the paint as advertised for the Lakers.

Yes there's a chance. Who's to say that AD won't sprain his pinky and miss the Finals?

Current odds to win the title, according to Vegas Insider:

Lakers -230
Heat +350
Celtics +1000
Nuggets +1000

I can’t wait for Nuggets to prove some of you guys wrong. You can’t just depend on two players to carry your team. You need a whole squad. Lakers are poorly built. Nuggets have the bigs to control the paint. Only way lakers win is if the goon squad hurt Murray or jokic. Clippers is a better team than then Lakers and no one thought Nuggets would have beaten them. Did you guys even watch the bubble? Have you guys seen how lakers play? Especially against Houston and Portland in the beginning?

The Lakers back door swept both of their opponents. Not sure how you can claim that it’s a negative there. And if you really think it’s only 2 guys that contributing, you’re clearly aren’t paying attention.

They aren't, especially with how PG had been playing. The Lakers would've beaten the Clips in 5-6 with those Pandemic P performances.

How much money did you bet on that money line?

Are you watching the playoffs?

In teh playoffs? Better than the Nuggets.

So you're hammering the Lakers for winning in 5 twice and propping up the Nuggets for winning in 7 twice? Nice.
