Miami is the best team in the NBA right now, but I still think it would be an upset if they beat the Lakers.

Huh? Literally everyone else on that roster is a specialist player

Dwight Howard dominated in his time last night.

You have a 4xDPOY HOF player capable of dominating. You have the brightest basketball mind by any healty active player in Rondo.

The Lakers team isn’t great offensively but have elite offensive talents. They are a great defensive team.

You also possibly have Anthony Davis ascending to the throne. Dude has dominated against small ball teams, had a killer night against Denver.

Bam is possibly the only player left who can stop AD on the offense.

Never said " their only chance is hurting Murray" pal
You need to go back and read the posts in question, chief.

Yeah maybe they have the 2 better players.
Yea, and that team usually has a better chance than "no chance" so again, read what I was replying to.

And they are more than "2 players". They aren't limited to "specialists" ala the Clippers.
Wait, you think the Clippers minus Kawhi/PG are better than the Lakers minus Lebron/AD?

Yikes.

Read them and yeah i gotcha. The thread title is "any chance" that's all I said. They have a chance, and then laid out why they have a chance. Doesn't mean it will happen, personally I don't think it will. I mean anyone with a brain should know Lakers are the favorites and have an advantage. And you replied to me while talking to the other guy so yeah I was a little confused.

Just no reason to sit here and say "Lebron and AD are better its over" when it was a simple question of "any chance they don't". No fricking shite they are better and the favorites, that's why the title is what it is and not "will Denver and Miami beat LA".

Current odds to win the title, according to Vegas Insider:

Lakers -230
Heat +350
Celtics +1000
Nuggets +1000

The odds now are swinging towards the Lakers even more.

Current odds on my sports book:

Lakers -375
Heat +450
Celtics +500
Nuggets +1500

I'm gonna wait until the Nuggets are down 3-1 and their odds are +3000 or so, then throw $20 on em.

I just now realized who Anthony Davis truly is

if I felt like busting out my photoshop I would... but AD = Brock Lesnar & LeBron James = Paul Heyman

I can’t wait for Nuggets to prove some of you guys wrong. You can’t just depend on two players to carry your team. You need a whole squad. Lakers are poorly built. Nuggets have the bigs to control the paint. Only way lakers win is if the goon squad hurt Murray or jokic. Clippers is a better team than then Lakers and no one thought Nuggets would have beaten them. Did you guys even watch the bubble? Have you guys seen how lakers play? Especially against Houston and Portland in the beginning?

All of the Lakers players play defense. Even Kuzma at times. There's no Patrick "Foul A Second" Beverley or Lou "No D" Williams. Their perimeter players make enough shots to beat teams. They are better constructed than the Clippers. Who had zero rim protectors and even less brains and intestinal fortitude. I know it all runs counter to what the ESPN talking heads were claiming last summer when they tried to rationalize Magic Johnsons staggering incompetence and made Pelinka the bad guy. Root for the Heat or Celtics because that's all that's left to stop LA.

Nuggets should be 2-1 right now if AD didn’t hit that buzzer beater. I eat my crow and did not expect Lakers to be this good with Rondo. He’s a huge part of why they are winning games (outside of AD and LBJ). Also KCP is out performing than what I thought he would. I still think Denver can win it though. Their bench is deep. Lakers going to be gassed out. Lebron and AD (one or the other) has to be on the court all times. JOKIC needs to keep playing aggressive. Even if these refs are having some questionable calls.
