Make sure you’re aware of their mask policy
When they say keep it on unless you’re eating or drinking, yes...they mean even between bites and sips
A guy I went to high school with is a bar owner out there and this is what he posted on FB for all of our friends making the trip

Nola peeps coming to Las Vegas. This is info for you. Please prepare yourself if you are staying on the strip. Currently, none of the bars inside the casinos are open to sit at. You are at the mercy of cocktail waitresses. As good as they are, you still have everyone else to contend with before you see her again. You will end up buying what you drink at the hotel store. I know my Nola peeps love to have a good time. Your wait time in casinos on the strip for a drink is not even close to the same as our local places. I am suggesting to all of you to find a local bar/casino/tavern. There are hundreds here in Las Vegas. They have the same stipulations and most do not have all their gaming/gambling machines on due to restrictions. No one is allowed at any bar to drink anywhere in Nevada. And each group of 6 or less has to be 6ft apart which is going to be the biggest deal of capacity no matter how big a location. Anyways find a local bar/casino. Find it early. Restrictions to the amounts of people inside a building, parties of 6 or more not allowed to sit together, into other silly rulings at the moment. People love sports here so locals will be inside these places also. If you arrive late business cannot let you in if 1/2 capacity is hit. 17 Bourbon Street Sports Bar/Casinos open 24 hours a day in the city of Las Vegas. Our 1/2 capacities limits are 100 plus at the smaller locations up to 250 at the larger locations. Remember 1/2 capacity is all any business is allowed to do. All Bourbon Streets have over 30 flatscreens TV’s and a 30 foot projector screen to watch any and all games. And shop all local bars/taverns/casinos not just mine. This is not an advertisement for my places. It’s trying to help all of you enjoy your time here. Lastly, if you gamble. And the strip is your thing. I promise you once you realize how often and size of jackpots you can hit inside all the local spots you will not care about the Uber ride you paid for. Enjoy yourselves and remember to wear your mask! Be nice. Everyone is short staffed. It’s different here just like home in Nola. ****yes you have to wear your mask in between sips/drinks of your choice. Cigarette smokers the same. Sorry masks on in all public locations unless eating. It is the law here. Drinking/smoking is not eating. ***I cannot stress enough the 6 foot rule. Groups of 6 or less no matter what have to be 6 feet apart. 20 single people or 20 groups will take up 120 feet of real estate inside a building. Get anywhere you are going to go EARLY. It will not matter who you know if there is nowhere to put you. I cannot be at 17 locations at once. This entire message was and is your heads up to know what to expect here in Las Vegas.

So how was Vegas? I am going on Friday, 10/2 and staying till Monday. It does look like some bars have opened which could be nice.
Friday we are just going to walk around drinking and gambling.
Saturday morning golf then head over to a Fremont late afternoon.
Sunday is football at a casino hanging out with the Bill’s Mafia.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

I’ve been reading the Las Vegas travel forum because we are going are planning on going in November and let’s just say we are rethinking our trip. Apparently there has been shootings every week on the strip and it’s basically turned into a ghetto at night. I just want to mention it because usually you can stay out all night on the strip and be fine but not anymore. I did read where hotels are going to bring the rates up to try to combat the problem

We were there for the Raiders/Saints games and the strip was a little rough crowd wise. We went to Fremont one night and even after going through metal detectors I still worried about getting stabbed. Fremont was full of rough and trashy people. I would skip Fremont at night.

If we go to Fremont it would probably be late afternoon Saturday but I want to watch the LSU game so may get sidetracked.
Staying at Paris. Will follow up when back to give an update.

I don’t know if it is open right but I would highly recommend the Hoover Dam. I found it fascinating.

Thanks. Wife and I went years ago. Just not sure it will fit in schedule. Pretty sure Friday will be drinking, gambling and walking around. Saturday, playing golf at Royal Links followed by Fremont or LSU football or both. Sunday we are meeting up with a bunch of folks from Buffalo in for the game. Originally scheduled to go to game.
Monday morning fly out.
