If I don't want to deal with Austin, are there any hotels nearby that you recommend?

The Sheraton is nice, and prolly the best place to stay around Georgetown.

Also can stay at the Domain and drive 15-20 mins to Berry Creek in the morning. Tons of food options, shopping, bars, etc.

Georgetown is a nice little town too, and Berry Creek is awesome.

Baw,

What tees are we playing from? Assuming from the back as it's only 6600 yards.

ETA: Also, what happened in your club championship? All kinds of high numbers for a bunch of low handicaps. How hard is it playing out there?!

This is Rummy's call, but with a larger group and variety in skills/age, I have no issue with people playing from the tees where they'll have the most fun. I don't see a reason to make a guy who drives it 230 playing the back just because I'm there.

Eh, I agree with ell...I'd rather people play from where they feel most comfortable, but with the understanding that the blues will be the "official" tees.

It was a weird year. I know for a fact that a few of the better players out here did not play the championship.

Also, I live in Berry Creek - about 3-minutes from the course, so if anyone wants to meet-up or come back to my house before or after, then that works.

Like I mentioned, I'm also down for getting together Friday and Sunday as well if people still want, so just let me know.

I'm in the local HS umpire chapter and VP sent out an email this AM saying we're having mandatory fall training on the 7th starting at 9 AM in Liberty Hill. Berry Creek CENTXTDGBI bummer. I'm still down to play Friday and Sunday if I can't make it Saturday.

I’m down to meet up whenever Saturday, before or after. I’m trying to figure out being to able take you up on a round Friday but it’s looking like the work schedule won’t allow for it.

For Saturday I just have to remember that I will have to drive back to South Austin at some point

Clinic is starting at 9 with games in the afternoon. I'll see if I can get waiver from working afternoon games since there will also be Sunday games (requirement to work one game to get credit)

Nice.

Just got my clubs regripped so maybe I’ll shoot a 105 instead of a 110.

I hit a shot yesterday that I swear was the best all around shot I’ve ever hit in 30 years playing golf. It was a 184 yard 6 iron on a par 3, but the contact, ball flight (high, buttery draw ) and result were all perfect. Hit it to a foot and a half and tapped in.

I’ve had 2 hole in ones, but there was just something different about the feel of this one.
