Add to it that it’s yet another brutalist monstrosity there’s no reason to try to preserve or keep it around other than the fact that it’s built and demolishing it would be incredibly expensive and logistically challenging.

That's...a pretty damn big reason.

Times Square Marriott Marquis

I liked the revolving bar at the top of it. Good spot to grab a beer and get a 360 degree view of the city.

Times Square is about the most awful place to stay in all of Manhattan.

I mean...another major chain will just purchase it and open up a similar hotel there, or Hilton will do it under one of their other chain names. Its a hotel that is always packed, and all of this will end eventually.

I personally would never stay at a hotel near Times Square but whatevs.

The financial heads at Hilton must be looking at large drops in NYC real estate.. Get out while the getting is good. High labor costs, mtaxes, crime, etc.

First time in NYC during summer of 2019. A hotel employee told me that NYC had a law that any vacant room in any hotel had to be used to house a homeless person until the vacancy could be filled with a paying customer. I didn't research this information; however, if true, there shouldn't be any homeless people on the street considering tourism is down in NYC.

Had 2 old fashions there just prior to heading down and actually meeting/taking pictures with joe as he entered the Sony theatre for the Heisman.

Shook hands with Marcus Allen, Justin fields and Jalen Hurst.

Immediately walked 11’ish blocks or so down to the Legends to watch the ceremony in an all LSU packed sports bar in Manhattan. An insanely bizarre, incredible night.

Time Square will go back to the Peep Shows of the 70s to stay alive. NYC knows there is no shortage of Pervs.

It will be like 1978 NYC all over again. Congrats, DeBlasio.

It's worse than 1978.

Stayed there on my honeymoon.
