Am I the only one who thinks what Trump said to Woodward is the right thing to say?

I don’t get the outrage.
Trump was trying to calm the fears. It’s like a sinking boat captain trying to calm the passengers and avoid mass hysteria. That’s what leaders do.
I think this should help Trump.

If he had said “I want to keep the country positive” instead of “I want to downplay it” this wouldn’t be a story. It means the same thing but since CNNs attacks on Trump are 99% mind reading and phrase parsing this is a story.
