Hey guys, I talked about this a long time ago on this forum with an overwhelmingly positive response but my son is very close to dropping out of school to pursue his rap career. Although his SAT score is a mere 800, I want him to stay in school, but promised him I would let him drop out if his new album gets positive reviews and he can make a career out of it.
I’ll let you guys decide- can he make it big in the rap industry?

P.S. I personally really enjoyed the song “Self Actualization”

I've always wanted to tell someone "don't quit your day job."

That moment has finally arrived.

In all seriousness though...is this serious? Is this what passes for "rap" music - or any kind of music - these days? Maybe I'm just that out of touch with what kids consider to be good music nowadays. Sounds like a bunch of mashed-up sound effects with little to no discernible rhythm or melody.

There HAS to be jobs in the industry he can learn, even if not the headlining talent. Make him research those and pick a couple to pursue. Best place to get the job you want is to already be at that place.

Well, with his SAT scores, it looks like school isn't for him anyway. Have you taught him how to say "Would you like fries with that?" Seems like that's gonna be his most successful career path.
