Purely anecdotal, but I'm seeing fewer and fewer people wearing masks around Atlanta. Folks are sick of this shite.

Pretty much my experience too outside of deep blue enclaves.

In my city, you have stores with the mask mandate to enter store but nobody gives a frick. They just put it up because they are ordered too.

I only wear it to stores with the sign so I don't get bothered by ugly fat people.

My favorite was when I was in an elevator with no mask and some guy reeking of cigarette smoke was getting onto me for not wearing a mask.

And the mask stuff will go away pretty quickly as national chain stores no longer require them. You aren't going to see masks used at universities or K-12 to start 2021 school year next August. Not even by next summer.

Herd immunity is well on its way to taking place and it isn't going to take much longer for herd immunity to have taken place.

Unfortunately in Houston, masks are still everywhere.
Wear one or no admission.
I’ve been very surprised by it, TBH.

People realize that masks don't do shite after they started wearing them. When your glasses fog up from breathing it doesn't take someone to be a brain scientist to know that you just exhaled a bunch of germs.

I dont think any of this matters though. Politicians are loving the power this is giving them and as long as there is one active case of COVID on this planet they will justify the need to wear masks, facts and numbers and herd immunity be damned.

Everyone keeps saying this will be over 11/4, I am not so sure. If Trump wins I forsee blue state mayors/governors doubling down on COVID hysteria to "punish" us for voting Trump. They don't want to give up the power.

If Biden wins this could all go away, yes. I think it would be too obvious if it all went away 11/4, so they would let Biden get into office, institute a mask mandate for 3 months, then come April COVID will magically go away and they can all proclaim Biden got in office, got serious about COVID, and eradicated the virus. Mission Accomplished. Democrats get the huge propaganda win.

OR, they can double down on COVID. They love the power grab this is giving them, and with Biden and democrats in charge, what will stop them from becoming even more draconian with measures like mandatory vaccines or vaccine passports. The door would be open for the ultimate power grab with COVID as the vehicle.

I think it will slowly go away. Masks orders will last longer in Democrat states because it makes them feel safe.

Wearing a mask or not wearing a mask will remain a political issue for years. Some news stations will make opinion articles stating the vacine doesn't fully work or blah blah blah

If you see someone wear a mask, you will know they want socialism in their life

Weak minded people will continue to wear a mask and belittle anyone else who doesnt

I believe they will use the amber alert system to issue mandatory mask alerts when they feel like it. Yep.

I have begun pulling my mask down in stores and just pulling it up if near people. I remove it the instant I check out. I get plenty of pearl clutching look as i exit the store without my mask... “well I never”

All but lifted here. Stores don’t care, schools are barely doing it.

Yeah, if you go into Walmart here [spare me the "poor" comments you fricking OT ballers, that's all we have here] they still have the "face covering required" signs and the door greeter with tablet tracking occupancy, but you get inside and 40% of people aren't wearing masks.

It's been BS from the start.

She extended the order till early October (the 2nd, I think?), so technically the mask order should expire then, but that's the second time she's extended it so that's basically the same as saying "indefinitely" until our queen decides otherwise.

I think this is a crock of shite to impose healthy people to wearing masks. However, where I live in Abu Dhabi, the government requires a mask outdoors, stores, malls, even in cars, etc., so I'm wearing it, and it comes off at restaurants, coffee shops, etc. Fines are starting at $810 USD on up..way up

That’s a hefty penalty.
I believe the fine here in Houston is $250.
And it’s enforced.

Northeast TN only just flattened our curve, as we got the virus very late. My county's mandate got extended from Aug 28 to September 30, and I assume it will extend at least 2 weeks into October. My company has already said we'll be wearing masks until next year at least.

Tennessee is as Red as Red gets, and I'm getting barraged with commercials saying we have to wear masks until a vaccine. Bill Lee hasn't even updated the guidance to open playgrounds.

OK ,so we have this mask mandate. The little paper mask does not make a tight seal on the face. So when a person exhales their vapors can escape around the loose sides. The cotton mask fits somewhat tighter but still not a tight seal. After about an hours worth of wearing it becomes water logged with a person's exhaled water vapor and thus begins to droop making the seal ineffective. Point is that these common mask aren't worth a fart and someone is making a barge load of money off of this insanity. I wear a neck gaiter and I have seen disparaging remarks about them lately. It fits tighter,it does not fall off my ears, and I can wash it in the machine and wear it again. The plandemic is over.
