I know the usual suspects. Fishers, Cobalt, Cosmos, etc. But I was talking with a local guy working on a boat this morning when I went to reserve an evening dolphin tour and figured I’d ask him for recommendations. I told him seafood but, open to anything. We’re not talking about Fishers Upstairs attire either. Just shorts and a decent shirt type place. The guy recommended OSO which is close to the dolphin cruise which is close to the dolphin cruise. Has anyone ever tried this place and if so how was it? The guy also said the best seafood was at a place called Tin Top in Bon Secour. Anyone ever tried these or have any other recommendations?

Place is great. Would definitely recommend considering it.

OSO

I thought it was alright, nothing too special. Could use some better decor inside and out though

Anchor Bar and Grill. Tin Top is great but a bit more of a drive.

Tin Top was good when I ate there 3 or 4 years ago.

Big Fish is probably our favorite down there right now. People rave about their sushi if that's your thing. We don't care for it so never tried it.

We’re still deciding for tonight but from what I can tell Lambert’s will get skipped from here on out for Tin Top on the way in. Tonight is our nice go out to eat night so all the recs you send are appreciated. Wife won’t do sushi but will eat some good fish. Daughter might as well have chicken nuggets from Ruth’s Chris!

Lambert's is a tradition for us. I know it's not the best but we feel like we have to go everytime we go to OB.

I know what you mean. I still like going for the experience and will probably still go, just not every trip. Any other recommendations for tonight’s supper is appreciated. Actually I need you guys to save me from Tacky Jack’s because our dolphin cruise is right next door and my wife thinks it would be fun for our daughter. My definition of fun for a restaurant is good food first and then any type of atmosphere/entertainment stuff.

We went to Anchor. Food was pretty damn good and they had some interesting drink choices. Very much a hipster type environment that I might not normally partake in, but it was worth it. Cool little view also.

We went to Oso last time. It’s in the old flippers location. It’s pretty good.

Would you rather Fisher’s Dovkside than Oso or Anchor Bar and Grill? I believe my wife is looking for somewhere that cooks really good fish. I’ll eat just about anything but, she doesn’t like tuna so that’s out.

Tin top is a place I always recommend. Really good food and by no means what people would call a lower class restaurant.

If you recommend it I definitely will check it out. Problem is I’ve got a 10 year old and we’re getting ready to go on a 2 hour dolphin cruise. By the time we got there it would be close to 8:00. Too late for us to eat. We’re looking for something closer to the marina in Orange Beach. So far it’s Fisher’s Dockside, Oso, Anchor Bar & Grill, or Tacky Jack’s. I’m really trying not to go to Tacky Jack’s but it’s next door and would be convenient. (So says my wife) I’m looking for a quality dinner with my wife and daughter in the area.

We ended up at Fisher’s Dockside. I had the pecan crusted swordfish and the wife had the red snapper. Little one had grilled cheese. It was good but not great. With tip it came to $96.00. I was actually kind of disappointed because I’ve always heard great things about them. We had to try them at least once though.

Fisher’s

I find Fisher’s, along with Cosmo’s, the two most overrated restaurants in our area.
