Watching Poku’s highlights for the national team had me interested. But if you watch any of the full international games or his league games, there are HUGE red flags. I know someone said this before but it is exactly right: the competition he plays against in his league looks like rec league level. Even with that, he’s not exactly dominating. I don’t think he has the athleticism or lateral quickness to ever come close to being able to defend in the league. In a different draft, he doesn’t sniff the lottery, and is a second round stash. I think his career is going to be more Darko than Dirk.

With all that said, it’s going to be fun in a few years looking back at these discussions. We are all going to be either elated that we dodged an obvious bust or kicking ourselves for not seeing a clear superstar in the making.

I think Pokus best trait is he moves really well for his size, but I didn’t see any really impressive basketball skills. Not saying there isn’t anything he does well, but nothing that really jumped out at me.

I don’t see why we have any reason to believe he’d be better than more accomplished “top” euro bigs that have come over before like Kukoc and Mirotic. Both were good players but swinging for the fences is finding another Jimmy Butler or Donovan Mitchell.

I think the only reason to consider Poku at 13 is to time shift the pick because he’ll be a draft and stash. But I’d much rather take Lewis or Nesmith than that.

Honestly, I don't think I agree with this. There is a very good chance we deal either Jrue or Lonzo, so we will need a PG. Hell, even with those 2, we still need someone who can breakdown the perimeter defense. I'm not sure what role Williams fills. He's probably going to be a 4 in the NBA, and I'm not sure Zion is going to be able to defend the 5 consistently.

Honestly, he gives me that Marvin Williams vibe as a prospect.

Not interested in Poku at 13. Way too much risk with him to be picked that early.

RiskvsReward- top 5 talent?

Really in-depth article on him, a guard with a 7'3" wingspan

I feel like Nesmith isn’t getting discussed enough.

I think the idea with Williams is that he’ll be a SF that can guard 4’s. Apparently he guarded PG’s a lot in college, so the thought being he should be able to handle himself against wings.
