Best I can tell, Wade probably signed some kids that bigger programs wanted badly and started talking shite about payoffs and dirty recruiting as a result.
This happens whenever any coach who isn’t at a blue blood school recruits well.
In fact, it happened to Dale Brown at LSU from the 70s to the 90s when they finally “got him” by inducing Lester Earl to make up whatever he could in order to regain a year of eligibility he would otherwise lose through transferring while suspended from the team.
