Urlacher posted a controversial message on his Instagram Story in reaction to the NBA players sitting out.

"Brett Favre played the (Monday Night Football) game the day his dad died, threw four TDs in the first half, and was a legend for playing in the face of adversity.

NBA players boycott the playoffs because a dude reaching for a knife, wanted on a felony sexual assault warrant, was shot by police,” the message read.

Nothing controversial about it, IMO. Urlacher sent facts via instagram.

There’s nothing controversial about the truth.

It's amazing that the truth is so controversial.

The bald head look of the late 90’s and early 2000’s is long gone. I can’t think of many athletes in today’s world with bald heads.

I thought he had the knife in his hands already? Did that change?

But in any case, it's a good thing Brian is already retired and has already earned his money. He is free to say and do however he pleases without censoring himself.

ESPN will say his comments were “disappointing.”
