Try to remember back to the first time you ever tried sushi.

Was it a 'I love it/ I hate it' reaction? Or was it more of acquiring a taste for it?

Personally, I instantly loved it, and wondered how I could have gone so much of my life without it.

I loved it, but I know lots of people who it was an acquired taste for.

I tried it hammered after an LSU football game out of a display window. Needless to say, it was not a flattering experience.

loved the tuna sushi, but hated the scallops. I almost got sick on the table. Terrible texture to eat raw.

loved it instantly. And then I started spending 50-60 bucks a week on it.

I have tried various kinds at different places and I can't learn to like it at all. I don't like the texture and such.

In the last year I have just gotten to where I will eat the california rolls.

at first i thought it was just OK, but that's because i started out on the safe, boring sushi. as i moved to more interesting, hard-core items, i found them to have much better flavor and was soon addicted

the only stuff i don't really care for is the sea urchin

+1

i loved sushi from the first time i tried it, but sea urchin is by far the nastiest shite i ever ate in my life. its also the only thing i ever ate at a sushi place that i would never eat again.

I've heard that sea urchin is either terrible or wonderful. A sushi chef told me that it is a good way to see if you have a good chef.

is that another way of saying they made themselves like it in order to seem cool, trendy, & hip?

no it means that it's typically that you hate it if you get the wrong thing but once you get the right thing you're addicted forever.

My picky arse will only do crunchy (without avacado) and spicy tuna.

Tsunami has one that is essentially the crunch, but with soft-shell crab (also, no avacado).

I will eat a shite-ton of those. I like Tsunami's deal on Tuesdays where rolls $10 and under are 25% off.
