Ohms Lyrics
quote:
[Verse 1]
We're surrounded by debris of the past
And it's too late to cause a change in the tides
So we slip into our hopeless sea of regret as I stare
[Pre-Chorus]
Through the haunted maze in your eyes
Right through where I'll remain for all time
[Chorus 1]
And time won't change this
This promise we made
Yeah, the time won't change this
It's how it'll stay
[Verse 2]
This is our time, we devour the days ahead
We've been possessed by these changing times
As we slip on through, we promised to meet again somewhere
[Pre-Chorus]
Through the haunted maze in our minds
Right through where we shall remain for all time
[Chorus 2]
Yeah, time won't change this
This promise we made
And time won't change this
We shall remain

The song sounds great. Pretty cool video too. It’s interesting that they’re releasing the closing track of the album as the first single, it definitely leaves me wanting more.

Excellent! The bridge kinda reminded me of “Entombed”.

Sounds like Deftones, but just enough of being different from other things they've previously done.

The consistency of this band is fricking incredible
Also.. pretty cool seeing carpenter showing off that 9-string beast a little

I'm pleasantly surprised at how good this song is. Wow.

Guitar Sponsor: How many strings would you like for us to build on this model?
Carpenter: YES

Anyone else get that Steph is playing a 9 string on this song in the video when there’s no reason to play this song on a 9 string? I’m taking it as a tease that the rest of this album is going to be heavy AF!

100%.. why I said showing off in the video a little. Bet he carves that thing up on some other tracks. Pumped

When he added the 8th on KNY it was an amazing shift sonically.
The bottom tone on Swerve City and it being the opener really set the tone for the album, which I really, really love.
I'm beyond hyped

So stoked whenever they come out with new stuff. I’ve been there from the very beginning, saw ‘em for the first time on the Adrenaline tour. Who would have thought 25 years later they would still be together and making new music? I agree that the consistency is unreal. They never let me down.

I was just thinking about this the other day. The first time I'd seen them live I was maybe in 7th or 8th grade and they opened for 311 at UNO Lakefront Arena. Nuts.

The intro and outro have a strong Mastodon feel. I’m a fan.

I was there, with about 7 friends ( 2 were bandmates). We were so big into Deftones at the time that about 3/4 into 311’s set we walked out. As we’re walking down the ramp, who do we see exiting the tour bus which was parked down below? Frickin’ Chino. We burned a couple of cigarettes with him and shot the shite for 15-20 minutes. One of us had one of those Polaroid throw away cameras and we took some pics. Still got ‘em to this day. Some of us had met the band before in Lafayette and once in Houston, and every time they were real cool and down to earth. I remember this well bc they played UNO on Friday night and Acid Bath played Zeppelins on Saturday. Great weekend in the city...
