Stevens:

quote:

He can run a route like he's a receiver, and he's 250 pounds. There's been a couple times he'll run a route and bang into me, and I have to absorb it. He's a freak of nature. Coach O wasn't wrong when he called him Megatron. That's 250 pounds running like 4.4 speed right at you.

MB:

quote:

He runs like a receiver ... but he has the body type of tight end. I don't think he's missed a single pass all camp. He's an outstanding athlete, and we are very, very, very grateful to have him.

It used to be when we had a weapon like this, you would pray we would get it to them in space every once in a while, while going max protect every down.

Now, with this offense, this is truly exciting.

He's going to be an absolute nightmare to scheme for, especially if he can block.

Best offensive player in the last class. TE listing hurt him for whatever reason, he is a WR.

Look at the route he ran at practice yesterday, he moved effortlessly for a guy his size.

I said we upgraded at TE when we signed him and got blasted. I’m sorry but he’s already better than Moss.

If we can just get TE play anything like we did last year, we just keep rolling.

I was watching the videos and saw # 2 really running patterns well and thinking he was a WR running patterns. I looked at the roster to see who he was and was stunned to see it was Gilbert. He is a freak.

Watching the practice video from yesterday, I forgot for a moment what his number was and said to myself who is that defensive end running pass routes?

His legs are like trees already as a true FR. Opposing DBs will not like tackling him once he gets going full-steam ahead.

I don't think he runs a 4.4. Thought it was like 4.6. He needs to get stronger and just bulldoze tacklers.

Gilbert, plus the receivers, are the reasons I have been predicting a great season for Brennan.
He is very accurate with his throws, and no team can cover them.
