The taxes for all of these things should be eliminated entirely
Your mistake is in thinking that there's some weird requirement to have separate taxes for separate things. But that's silly. It's just a mechanism for the government to tax you more. By separating out all of these theoretically important hacks for kids while still nailing you for the general fund. If the federal government is going to tax you there should be one vehicle and that should be it. Same for the state. There is no real reason to have multiple Avenues of Taxation

Which is why we should tax wealth/assets
So you’re going to have to liquidate assets to pay tax on them? What if “wealth” is tied up in the stock market? You gonna pay a tax on an imaginary number that fluctuates daily?

But all the 18 year old economics masters say tax wealth. So you just do it.
Its that simple dawg bro.
Because no one will just buy a frick ton of jewelry, cars, gems, other currency or art and pull all investment out of the country and then there is absolutely nothing at all to tax anymore.
Its a genius plan. From absolute geniuses.
Zimbabwe would be proud.

So how do we pay for the government? If I said do away with social security something makes me suspect most would throw a fit saying it’s due them because they’ve promised me it etc. So how should we pay for it, or just keep making our kids pay for it like we’re doing?
Make a list of everything taxed... I’ll check back in a week when you are close to finishing. Perhaps a better way exists. Maybe a lockbox

1. 53% of this country takes care of the other 47% of Americans who don't pay Federal Income Taxes. Also, we take care of the countries we have troops in,illegals and we provide foreign aid.
2.. Social Security is a fricking scam. They take it from our checks, tell us at what age we can start to withdraw it, tell us how much of OUR money we can get every month and the worst part is , when you die your family only gets a $256 death benefit even if your account has several hundreds of thousands of dollars in it.
1. I agree that everyone needs to have skin in the game in regards to paying taxes. I also believe in a progressive tax structure though.
2. SS is not a scam, it’s not retirement, it’s a safety net. Yes they take from your check and then have those restrictions on it, but so what? It’s there in case you lose everything. It’s not there so that you can go retire to Florida.

I loathe paying into something that I will never receive the benefits from.

You do realize then that states will increase their taxes to compensate for the shortage. Especially infrastructure spending

I’m 32. Abolish social security. Make it a cut off date, something like 55 and older can still pay into it and get funding from it. Everyone under can opt out

I agree with OP. Payroll taxes (and property taxes) are theft.

It’s not impossible to do.

Bull shite. It’s turned/morphed into (Some would say always was) a vote buying program.

So when you teach a kid whose parent shot them in head and (got placed in state custody (there’s more than 1 of these I’ve had) cut that tax funding is a reason alone to not eliminate and then you have majority of mental health paid by these funds in public schools.
Back when people still put their faith in family, community, and churches we didn’t need this big brother government bullshite spend.

doesn’t matter the employer matches, that amount has to be paid either way. If we did away with the match and put it 100% on the employees their percent would have to go up so you’d likely have to raise their wages by that amount to compensate. At the end of the day that amount gets paid. So doing away with the match wouldn’t do you any good because instead of paying the government what you’ve been paying you’d pay the employee who would then in turn pay the government.
Employees would then realize how much taxes are actually paid to the government and how much actually gets wasted.

Yes it is a scam , I could do better with MY money.
So what ?
Do you drive down the road tossing cash out the window ?

U.S. government would just shift the entire burden to the employer in one way or the other. They will increase overall tax on business or some other shite.
U.S. government is a junkie. They cannot give up income sources.

I argued this with my son this weekend. It started with corporate tax when I said there should be none because it is a sneak a tax on consumers. I then popped the payroll tax on him and he didn't know that companies had to pay to employee him.
The slow process of backing him away from leftism...
