Put the money in the hands of the worker and small business owner to pay a higher wage. The tax does no good just is a feel good feeling that Uncle Sam is going to take care of you when you reach a certain age.

Definitely should not be suspended. That would make the tax code way more progressive, and it would radically increase the number of citizens who are complete parasites, not paying any taxes.

So eliminate social security? What about the defense department, Medicare, and Medicaid? If we keep those three in place it doesn’t matter that SS is gone you’ll still have to pay taxes to pay for those.

Then you pay the taxes dummy and let me keep all my money. Thank god i dont have any employees

I’m not saying eliminate them find a way not to put on the back of employers to fund it. $25000.00 in payroll taxes at the end of the year for a business is ridiculous. They are the job creators of this country why penalize them with a bi weekly burden of additional expense on top of what they already pay their employees.

Ok so what’s the solution? It has to be paid one way or the other.

Are they deferring deductions on earnings “up to” $104K or only deferring deductions for those that “earn less” than $104K?
Basically, will those that earn more than than $104K not see any deferment at all?
Most of the articles I’ve found devote 90% of the piece to trashing Trump and give few details on the actual EO.

It’s some not understanding that SS Medicaid/Medicare is essential.
The idea behind it is that you pay into it, so that you may one day draw from it. The idea against it is that anyone with half a brain could do a better job of taking care of themselves than the government can.

Taxation is robbery. That doesn’t change because you’ve been convinced that it serves a public good. The “less fortunate” are not my responsibility and would fair better if not dependent on government.

Taxation is paying for things you spent. Don’t want to pay taxes? Then don’t have the government spend anything. The "taxation is robbery" nonsense is the mantra of deadbeats that don’t want to pay their tab.

I forgot everyone on this board claims to be in 150k plus range.
Do you think only people who make 150k or more would do a better job of taking care of their money than the worthless fricks in government ?

I am certain such a fine citizen as yourself gives at least 10% of your gross income to worthy causes.

Are you an American citizen? If so then you.

So should Social Security and Medicare be eliminated (I'm not advocating for or against these programs just curious how you feel) because that's what Payroll taxes are used for? If not, where should the funds to pay for them come from?

Probably. So push for the government to stop spending. And not just on the stuff you don’t like, if you don’t want to pay taxes then the government needs to cut all spending. Most crucially defense, SS, Medicare, and Medicaid. Eliminate those if you don’t want to pay taxes.

Well it’s going to it Trump gets re-elected. He obviously has another plan to fund SS and Medicare without putting it on the back of employers. You must not own a business
Those costs are passed on to the consumer and/or made up by employees being paid less.
Which is why we should tax wealth/assets and not businesses.

It may not be accurate, but it’s usually coming from people who are pulling this wagon. Walk into an emergency room on a Friday night; you won’t hear anybody calling taxation theft, but you also couldn’t fund a kid’s Chucky Cheese birthday party with their net taxes.

i work for my corporation and employ myself and pay the whole 15.3% employee/employer.

The problem is very simple.
1. 53% of this country takes care of the other 47% of Americans who don't pay Federal Income Taxes. Also, we take care of the countries we have troops in,illegals and we provide foreign aid.
2.. Social Security is a fricking scam. They take it from our checks, tell us at what age we can start to withdraw it, tell us how much of OUR money we can get every month and the worst part is , when you die your family only gets a $256 death benefit even if your account has several hundreds of thousands of dollars in it.
It gets old taking care of others.
