We hope this note finds you and yours well during this time. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work to make sure you have the information you need regarding this upcoming 2020 football season.
We are currently evaluating the allowable capacity in Tiger Stadium this fall. It is important for us to know your plans as a season ticketholder. Today, we are asking all season ticket holders who do not want to use any of your 2020 season tickets and parking permits to fill out the form linked below. Those who choose to opt out for 2020, can fill out the form linked below and select either a tax-deductible donation, a rollover to the 2021 season or a refund. Each selection allows for the option to retain your seats for 2021 (see FAQs below for details).
If you would like to keep any or all of your tickets, there is nothing for you to do at this time. The link below is ONLY for those season ticket holders who do NOT want to use all of their tickets this year.
For the first time in our history, ticketholders who choose to opt out or have a remaining balance will have the opportunity to earn 5x the priority points normally received for a ticket contribution by donating to The Victory Fund. The Victory Fund, created by the Tiger Athletic Foundation, was established to help support our student-athletes and LSU Athletics during these challenging times. Ticketholders who choose to donate to this tax-deductible fund will earn 5 priority points per $1,000 donated rather than 1 point per $1,000 currently received for ticket contributions. Click here for more details on the fund.
If you choose to opt out of all of your season tickets and parking please submit the following form by Friday, August 14th. If you would like to keep any or all of your tickets, there is nothing for you to do at this time.
Click here to fill out the 2020 opt-out form by August 14th. Frequently Asked Questions: • How many of my seats will I receive if I choose to keep my 2020 season tickets? Season ticket holders may receive a reduction in seat allotment depending on capacity in Tiger Stadium. If you want to keep any or all your tickets for this season, there is nothing for you to do at this time. The LSU Athletic Ticket Office will be in continued communication with ticketholders with more details. For any balance that remains, ticketholders can choose a refund, rollover to 2021 or a tax-deductible donation to the Victory Fund. •
May I choose to keep only a portion of my seat allotment? Yes, however there is nothing for you to do at this time. Only those who are choosing to opt out completely need to fill out the form today. The LSU Athletic Ticket Office will be in continued communication with ticket holders who do not completely opt out of their season tickets about their ticket allotment options. •
Will my seats be in the same location if I choose to keep my 2020 football season tickets? If relocation is necessary due to capacity restrictions and public health directives, the LSU Athletics Ticket Office will work to relocate seats as near to the original location as possible.
• Will LSU refund season-ticket holders for cancelled games or a cancelled season? Adjustments to your balance will be based on number of games played and will be determined at the end of the season. The options for ticketholders at that time for any remaining balance will be a tax-deductible donation to The Victory Fund, rollover to 2021 ticket payment or a refund.
• When would refunds be issued? Refunds for those who choose not to use their 2020 tickets will receive a refund in 8-10 weeks. For those who choose to keep some or all of your tickets, the balance on your account will be reconciled at the end of the season based on the number of games played and the number of tickets received. The options for ticketholders at that time for any remaining balance will be a tax-deductible donation to The Victory Fund, rollover to 2021 ticket payment or a refund.
• May I keep my parking pass if I opt out of my season tickets? Ticketholders who choose to opt out of season tickets will not be given the option for parking passes for the 2020 season.
• What are the options if I choose to opt out of my 2020 season football tickets? Ticketholders who choose to opt out of season tickets can select one of the following options:
1. Make a Tax-Deductible Donation Season ticketholders can choose to opt out of the 2020 season by donating their ticket costs and seat contributions to The Victory Fund. The Victory Fund, created by the Tiger Athletic Foundation, was established to help support our student-athletes and LSU Athletics during these challenging times. Ticketholders who choose to donate to this tax-deductible fund will earn 5 priority points per $1,000 donated rather than 1 point per $1000 currently received for ticket contributions. Click here for more information on The Victory Fund.
2. Rollover to 2021 As renewals for 2021 are scheduled to begin in November, if you want to opt-out of your 2020 seats you can simply apply your seat contribution and ticket costs to 2021 in order to retain your season-tickets for next season without having to process a new payment.
3. Request a Full Refund Full or partial refunds for ticket price and seat contributions can be requested from the ticket office via the opt out form. LSU ticketholders who request a full refund will be given the option to retain their seats for 2021 through a non-refundable deposit of $100 per seat. Refunds for those who choose not to use their 2020 tickets will receive a refund in 8-10 weeks.

They still don't answer the very basic question of what options you will have if they choose to put restrictions on stadium capacity.
What if you have 4 season tickets and they say you can only be at 25% capacity? Will you have to pay for all 4 tickets or will you still have the option to say you want a refund?

Filled out the form to opt out. I absolutely dreaded hitting the submit button, but necessary.
At least my 2021 tickets are covered. This Covid shite better be in the past by then because I’m anticipating getting back to campus next year.

The whole can not keep your parking pass if you opt-out does not bode well for tailgating this year.
So we are still at, decide if you want to go or not, but we still do not know if you will be able to go or not or how many of your tickets you will be able to use or not.

Take a chill pill. They need to see how many people opt out first, what if 75% of season ticket holders opt out? Makes your question irrelevant. No use in putting out 75 different scenarios at this point it will only confuse everybody.

TAF = Junior League for men!
That thing is a racket!

Read the FAQ in letter. You will get same 3 options if you receive a reduced number of tickets.

Will tickets still be transferable, if you choose to keep them?

Oh I didn’t read it that way —
Is this what you’re referring to? I read it as if you have 5 but get 2, that you’ll be refunded for what you don’t get. Can you opt out if you don’t like the number you get??

That’s a question I would love answered. I have 6 and a rv pass. Let’s say I get 2, I guess the kids will just stay at home while the wife and I go to the game? Ok, well if that is the case, can I leave my rv at home and park my car bc there is no point in bringing it if it’s just us two, or can we say that’s not doable take my tickets and my parking pass and put it towards next year? If I bring my car can I get a reduction on the rv pass or swap it out for a car pass? If there ends up being no tailgating at all wtf do I do, I’m in a lot that is RVs only. Do I get to pay 3 times the car pass rate to park my car in the RV lot?
Same thing for car pass people, do you get upgraded to a better lot since less people will be there?
I’m going al in and waiting to see, but there are a lot of unanswered questions / scenarios they are dodging right now.
I know they do not know everything right now but when your talking $10,000 or more, a little more info would help.

Cliff notes:
We’ve determined the minimal number of asses in seats we need to be in the black. If you come or don’t, send more money. It’s better if you send it now.

Agree...I opted to just roll into 2021 season

Here’s the goofy part - it says that someone will contact me about my preferences for 2021 seats....I’m assuming they’ll swipe my card for the $500 in deposits. So why not, right then, refund my card for the net amount and be done with it. Are they hand delivering the refunds with bike messengers?

Don't worry. We'll still give LSU plenty of shite for this policy as well.

If you're spending $10K, someone will pick up the phone and answer your questions.
