gotcha.
well I hope you land on your feet soon. Can’t imagine that situation. It’s unfair to be lumped in with those not seeking employment.

I'll be okay. If I really get desperate, the post office is hiring.
I'd probably give trade school a thought before that, though.

Thanks. I have heard that the Work Force Dept. is so overwhelmed that they are not even following up with employers who have turned in employees who refused to return to work.

My 70 year old neighbor is a substitute teacher. So she shouldn’t be able to get any unemployment?
Not 847.00 a week, no
Do substitute teachers get paid during the summer?

It's really not that hard, but you do have to prove you're trying. If UI offices actually have time to investigate fraudulent claims, they'll have a little more evidence to go through and say "you applied for this job, they offered, you refused - no more UI benefits for you".
Yeah, from what I remember it was basic info that could be manipulated but if the state chose to audit could prove disqualification

Supply chain.
Mostly what I'm looking at now is warehousing.

you do have to actually prove that you applied to a specific job.

This is just a waste of time. Theu have no intention of getting a job. I have to waste my time and applications on this. The only reason I am for UBI is that the lazy can sit at home and stay out of the job force. Let us that want more work next to each other. That comes with it's own problems of idle hands. Anyways, they need to lose money if they turn down a job imo

The federal PUA should have been limited to a percentage of what you made prior to your unemployment.
Posted on 8/6/20 at 2:36 pm to wadewilson
"A percentage of....". According to numerous articles, it would take most states, on the average, 8 -16 weeks to change over an antique computer system. At the time, both the House & Senate agreed on the $600.

So why would they have to change computer systems? Is that not something that could be done by hiring more people to research new unemployment claims?

So people who own bars or wedding reception venues and are shut down by the governor need to apply for minimum wage jobs? They pay thousands in taxes and are shut down through no fault of their own. They shouldn’t be able to collect $222 a week unemployment that they’ve been paying in unemployment taxes for years?
Yea, I mean, you should be trying to find employment even if not a job you love.

Do you have to prove you looked for work or just say you looked?
You have to give a name, email address, phone number. It’s a pain in the arse when you’re just sending resume’s through Indeed, etc, but you only need three.

Ok, we don't need to pretend that everyone on unemployment is doing that.
This.
Even with the extra $600 per week still was $1300 less than I was earning, but it was keeping my mortgage paid. I just filled out paperwork for a forbearance, so this has hurt.
I just checked my Indeed acct and I’m at 94 jobs applied, some way below my experience level. I have three possible opportunities finally, but I’ll have to travel and be away months at a time. Hopefully one pops this week and I can be done with Unemployment.

Is this required if you are/were furloughed?
Posted on 8/6/20 at 3:15 pm to wadewilson
Where are you living Wade? Might had a lead for you

We get unsolicited resumes pretty often from people wildly unsuited for the field in general, much less anything we might have available. I figure it's people just checking the box for their unemployment claims.
