First I'd like to see how few "chronic lower respiratory diseases, influenzas, and diabetic deaths there are this year. Its a real virus but our reaction and paranoia has cost many more lives than the virus this year.

I don't find it disturbing at all insofar as it's a pretty natural thing that people die. I feel for the families who lost family members - from the virus, but also heart disease, cancer, suicide, etc.

The only real deniers are the people that deny the notion that sometimes bad things happen, and it's silly to believe a president/government can keep people clear of a highly transmittable virus.

There will be more far more life lost from the lockdowns than will be "saved" by them.

When you take out the heart disease, chronic lower respiratory disease, and diabetes, the covid deaths actually go negative. It should be called covid life!

148k covid deaths (exaggerated but let's pretend it's the real number) is still much less than 40+ million people losing their jobs and countless businesses closing permanently.

I wouldn't care if 1 million died. It's not worth destroying the economy and tens of millions of livelihoods. If you're scared or vulnerable, stay home. Don't push your fear of death on the rest of us and force us to submit to your weaknesses.

And yet we somehow managed to keep our economy open despite FOUR more deadly plagues than Covid, who knew

An open economy means little of the economy isn't functioning as it should

This is interesting data And somewhat helps move toward basic info like:

How many more people are dying now vs a comparable period?

My guess is that it is a relatively small number/proportion, especially considering that a fair proportion of ‘COVID deaths’ (10% ?) are mis-apportioned...

Because people who die from other causes, but test positive for Covid, are listed as Covid deaths, these numbers are irrelevant.

Why would it disturb me? No one denies the coronavirus exists. You apparently aren't very bright

And many thousands of those people were actually murdered by reckless Democratic governors. Yes, it is disturbing.

That’s the average, now do ‘at the current rate’

If you’re under 55, your chance of death by Covid is 1 in 100,000. You should be more fearful of influenza, which is killing more people per the CDC.

Why? You obviously squat when you pee.

If you believe covid has higher human burden than diabetes, you are a fool.

quote:

“Each year, approximately 200,000 non-traumatic amputations occur. African Americans are 4 times more likely to experience diabetes-related amputation than whites. In the United States, every 17 seconds someone is diagnosed with diabetes, and everyday 230 Americans with diabetes will suffer an amputation,” Fakorede wrote. “Throughout the world, it is estimated that every 30 seconds a leg is amputated. And 85% of these amputations were the result of a diabetic foot ulcer.”

will be interesting to see how high the suicides go up this year. I remember hearing that some areas had more attempts in the first month of this than all of 2019.

This is just a guess but if there was no vaccine in 2021 and we continue like this I bet the number of deaths for this virus drop significantly

There was a huge spike when nodody knew what was happening especially that dumb shirts on New York and New Jersey who killed a bunch of people right off the bat on purpose
