Bulldog being family friendly is just weird. Sat outside and dude had his kids there, kinda took me back for a second

I heard a rumor Juban's is gone which surprised me

K Street was it's own worst enemy. Good product but the service was shite

I guess with the temporary restaurant license they can allow kids under 18 there. During this time, I certainly wouldn't want to turn anyone away.

No I’m talking about Rock and Roll. The one by Burgersmith.

It’s not under the overpass, but figured that stretch of Perkins was being discussed with Bulldog being mentioned.

Didn’t know about the kids thing. Interesting. Someone told me last night they’re forcing everyone to buy 50% food. Is this a requirement for the restaurant license? Neither Ivars nor Olive or Twist are forcing you to buy food.

Jubans will be back. Deep pockets and they own the building. Owners in that position are going to wait until Phase 3 is a reality rather than continuing to lose money. That seems to be Emeril’s plan in NOLA

I find it hard to think any full service restaurant is killing it right now.

You know how I know you haven't been to Bldg 5 lately?
They were packed at 5 yesterday and every Friday.

K Street was already on its way out. Sadly (because I know and love the owner)

They have had many issues including mgmt and service. I personally think the menu needs to be updated as well. The owner has too much into the renovation of the bldg. He will find a new concept and new management. Personally I think a brewery would fit in well right there. It's Saurage that owns it right?

Guess you didn’t understand the point I was making. That a restaurant with 50% capacity isn’t killing it. Not to mention if you’re judging things off a Friday night even during Covid you aren’t seeing the full picture.

“I heard a rumor that the Ivars crew bought the gas station across the street and are turning it into a bbq place, can anyone confirm or deny this? Seems like a pretty good idea if they can turn out even decent bbq”

Heard this too from a reliable source. Hope they don’t price them selves out like most bbq places in BR.

That parentheses part was about Bumsteers. I have no idea who knows K Street. The way they talked up McCann at the beginning made me think he was an owner but now he’s gone.

Sad to see this happen to Bumsteers. I’m with you, couldn’t meet a nicer guy, seems like he’s been snakebit in the business world

To K Street, they had a ridiculous amount of hype leading to opening. I’m a big believer in the power of a strong Instagram presence, and they had that leading up to opening. Plus the starting chef was being touted as a bit of a local celeb at the time.

Now, that chef is gone but all the same original dishes remain. And their social media is dead.

Contrast that with Merchant, who absolutely kills it in the marketing sense. Whoever runs their social media is A+. Being that K Street spent an absurd amount of money on the renovations, they’re someone who has to pour their everything into staying in public eye and they just didn’t.

Why are people surprised about Schlitz & Giggles still being open?

Their pizza is NY style and is good. They have good salads too.

The food isn’t bad but it always looks dead.

Surprised Bumsteers has made it this long.

What’s the latest with the I-10 widening and these places?

I love their pizza too, but that location never seems to have people in it. I park back there pretty often, plus I'm always in the area. Never seen people at Schlittz.
