I read somewhere that a reason they left EMCC was because that female counselor was leaving as well. She was really
Vital to the show i guess paired with Stephens not liking his portrayal.

The dude in Independence was horrible. shite all over his coaches and players constantly. Took no blame for himself.

Is this season worth a watch?

Only watched two episodes of the new season, but this team, staff, and players are all 1000% more likable than EMCC or Indy.

If it makes you feel better, he’s probably going to jail for a while.

Yes, just to watch the arc of Dior Walker-Scott if nothing else.

I think the player's stories are more compelling at least told better and it is the first HC I wouldn't mind a kid if mine being coached by. Wait until you hear RJ's backstory. The other 4 seasons I tended to pull for the players but hoped for the coaches demise this season I want everyone to succeed even the player chosen for the heel role.

They needed to get far away from Bud Stephens. That dude is a dumpster fire.

Then Jason Brown in seasons 3 and 4 made a Buddy look like a Boy Scout

Absolutely. I think coach Beam is awesome.

Not really, the Hitler/text was clearly fricked up and a national story. But Buddy threw hands with a ref, called a bunch of his players worthless and demoted his levelheaded offensive coordinator because they had an end of the season disagree.

For? I remember the hitler stuff and why he is out at I CC but what would the jail time be for?

Didn’t JB do the same? Thought he got ejected for doing that early on in season 4.

Yeah this was bad and he also called his players thugs after the fight (that was clearly instigated by the other team) at the end of season 1. But JB called his players much worse.

I’ve never seen a coach worse than JB about talking down on his assistants in front of the players. JB changed the defense because of a disagreement with his DC, along with shitting all over the DC in front of the players. You don’t do that. Not saying Buddy is an angel, but he’s a far better coach than JB.

After reviewing JB's twitter page and most recent comments about Brittany Wagner. I do agree that he's a shitter person than Buddy.

I liked this season because coach Beam actually seems to care about the kids and has made the city of Oakland his home (It's clear that at some time he wanted to go back to San Diego). The kids themselves were all likable to some degree or another.

Yep. I don’t get his angle there. He’s outing her for asking him for a job? Why is that such a bad thing? He could’ve used her honestly. He was always complaining during seasons 3 and 4 that he had to play the role of coach and academic counselor.

8 felonies...

quote:

The former Independence Community College football coach allegedly stole the identity of a lawyer in an attempt to silence local newspapers, per the report. He’s charged with four counts of blackmail and four counts of identity theft. He’s also been charged with two counts of criminal false communication, which are misdemeanors.

Brown apparently tried to impersonate a lawyer from the Cochran Law Firm founded by Johnnie Cochran.

Yea - it was a bunch of likable but unspectacular talents trudging along through a mediocre juco season. I think especially being off campus living and each having so much on their plates there wasn’t enough of the team interaction outside of games. Seemed a lot of the kids drive 2 hours each way daily. After practice and class there’s not much left.

I’ve certainly watched worse but especially outside of Dior it wasn’t particularly compelling...
