Taylor Swift's Folklore album is amazing

It's like an album from an alternative timeline where Swift matured the Red (2012) sound instead of going down the pure pop route. (No disrespect to 1989). Standout tracks are exile, august, and betty, which might end up being an all time great Swift song. Not a bad song on the album. Jack Antonoff will end up being a music legend, if he isn't already.

Her first line of being on some new shite, and imagining her in some petunia floral skirt just had me cringing off the bat. I’ll listen more.

There are some real gems on this thing... and it’s gotten me in the feels...
Last great American dynasty
Illicit affairs
Invisible string
Epiphany.
Some of my favorite standouts so far..
But yes it’s Taylor doing what she does best.. not this super hyper pop overproduced shite that she’s done in her last couple of albums
Edit: shout to OP that we both listed our favorite standout songs and neither of us listed the same song. I think that’s interesting.

I don't know.. It's a good song, nicely done, but it's still about some high school stuff. Yeah, I know, there's a lot of money in that. Damn though, how old is she now?

I really like this album.
Exile, My Tears Ricochet and Last Great American Dynasty are my favorite at the moment. I really feel the Aaron Dessner influence as some of the music feels like The National. I wish she would put out more music like this.

The Last Great American Dynasty is pure fun that sounds like it was ripped right off Red. Swift's strengths has always been lyrics, emotion, and storytelling. I knew nothing about Rebekah Harkness before this song, but Swift is able to craft a beautiful tale that is clear and concise, even if it sounds like she copied too much from Harkness's wikipedia page.
The Lana Del Rey influence can't be missed. The moody album art and stylized lower cased track listings is a straight from Norman F*cking Rockwell.

You should give Emerson, Lake & Palmer a try.

Is this entire thread sarcasm? I hope so. Taylor Swift is a no talent count.

Give it a shot of you didn't like her last two albums, much closer to Red.

She's made so much money on so little talent. I envy her.

Ssubba we are getting a lot of hate and downvotes ITT...
If people didn’t like her, I don’t know why everyone’s clicking the thread . It’s not difficult to avoid

I anticipated the onslaught as soon as the first down vote came in.

There are hundreds of female singers that have mined that same exact sound for the last 30 years. So many that I can't tell them apart. Add Taylor to that list.

A lot of people have. Oprah, Rosie, Whoopie, and Ellen immediately come to mind...unfortunately.
Hell, for that matter, look at Hunter Biden.

This is a "Music Board."
That's why you're getting all the downvotes.

It’s so good. Lol at the she has “no talent” people.

Post some of your music so I can hear real talent.

"No talent"" "Lame" "teenage shite"
You know how I know you haven't actually listened to the album?
It's solid and really enjoyable. Good lyrics and excellent production work from Dessner and company.

She can write a damn song. I’ve played on 20+ albums and have 3 of my own. Play most of the music.
If you’re looking for a person with no talent in today’s scene, Taylor is well down on that list.

On a first listen the songs can sound repetitive, especially just casually listening. If you're able to re-listen and really focus, though, the themes and the lyrics are great. Definitely stronger than her last few albums (not that they were bad).
