I love Knoxville. If the job market were better I would probably be living there currently.

I wouldn't mind living in Eastern Tennessee/Western NC. It's definitely more my style than the deep South. We enjoyed Knoxville last time we were there.

I've heard great things about it. It's pretty high on my list for the next time my wife and I get a babysitter for a night out.

Knoxville has some good breweries loved Pretentious especially.
It's a small world-- One of my childhood best friends is the head brewer @ Pretentious. I'll pass the shout out along.

Having lived there myself, I like Knoxville best when it's in my rearview mirror.

What neighborhoods would you suggest for a couple looking to downsize and lose a big mortgage. Looking for a smallish <1500sq ft house in a good neighborhood. Close to mtn biking trails a plus.
I'm also looking into Nashville, Boise, Durango area, Chattanooga, Huntsville

Will? That dude is nuts. Great beer though. Pretentious is probably my favorite spot in town, but it has some competition.

Hard Pass. I see so much opportunity for Knoxville. They repeatedly spent money on planning without ever following through. Look at what Chattanooga has done for their river walk area. There is a reason the areas outside of Knoxville continue to attract people from Knoxville. So disappointing because Knoxville really could be a special place, yet they just let it go to waste. So depressing what it has become.

I should have said *One of the head brewers @ Pretentious. It's Will's counterpart, Alex Rich.
I'd put Pretentious, Crafty Bastard and Alliance as 3 of my favorites.
With First Days of Autumn, Hi-Wire, Schulz Brau and Abridged and several others in my next bracket

Long story short, come check us out! We'd love to have you.

I'm with you on those top 3. Abridged, Next Level, and Printshop are right there with Crafty Bastard and Alliance in my opinion.
Elst has come on strong too, as well as Albright Grove.
Schulz Brau is one of my favorites when it's not hotter than Satan's a-hole after eating spicy wings.

Baton Rouge is doing that, too.

The beautiful Purple and gold really clashes with that ugly arse orange. But I’m sure you people would get use to our presence.

When was the last time you were in Knoxville? It's gone through drastic changes in less than 5 years.
Knox County has 100k+ more people than Hamilton county (Chatt) and that gap is widening not getting smaller.
Also, Knoxville is and has been spending a tremendous amount of money on their South Knox waterfront in recent years. Theres still a long way to go, but that area is starting to boom. I'm not sure what you're talking about.

I wear purple and gold around town all the time. In general everyone is pretty cool with LSU fans, we share a mutual hatred for Florida and Bama.

It really depends. Are you looking for something more urban in a nicer area closer to downtown or something in the suburbs?
