Wow, talk about putting a positive spin on him:
Former UDFA Michael Bennett announced his retirement.
34-year-old Bennett walks away after 11 prominent seasons with the Buccaneers, Seahawks, and Eagles, notching three Pro Bowls and adding one Super Bowl title to his mantle while playing in Seattle. As cited in the New Yorker, Bennett, a social-justice advocate who has long been one of the most vocal anti-racists in the NFL, had reportedly made up his mind to retire before the pandemic in order to focus on helping other athletes speak out against injustice. For as respectable as his career was, he'll undoubtedly do far better things off the field in the coming years.

Only player in modern history to play his whole career without shoulder pads.

That’s not true. He paid my 8 year old son $20 for his shoulder pads.

This is kind of bittersweet. If there was ever a player that I wanted to get the kung flu it is Michael Bennett.

a social-justice advocate
Or can we just say "a guy who lied about police encounters in Vegas, but the MSM ate it up"?

he will make up the injustices and then speak out on them. It's the ultimate "self licking ice cream cone"

...and then maybe even write a book after said injustice like, Things That Make White People Uncomfortable, as if he is suddenly the White People Whisperer.
