If there are trees I can cut small limbs and lash them together to make a more permanent structure and use the tarp as a roof and collect rainwater in the pot

I would argue the exact opposite
The tent can do much more. It collects water, isolates from weather and insects, and is supported by flexible poles, which could serve many other purposes.
Should the tent be damaged or become unnecessary once a permanent structure is made, it could be used for its basic materials, including netting

The rod is a must...tarp is almost a must to collect rain water and shelter...
Purifiers only last so long, so...nope
