What's you go to for mainly freshwater with an occasional brackish water trip? I'm sure just about anything will be "ok" but just curious.

12 lb stren mono or 30 lb power pro braid for bass. I keep a salt reel spooled with 15 lb mono for salt/brackish.

Monofilament, fluorocarbon, and braid.

Depending on application.

Braid, as small as I think I can get by with. 10# yellow for white perch jigging, 20 or 30 green for bass, 30 green for trout/redfish, and 50# for snapper/AJ rods. Sometimes I'll use a fluorocarbon leader for salt water.

30lb Braid for reds/specs

10 lb mono for bream/cats

12 lb mono for bass fishing lures that arent plastics

12lb flouro for bass fishing plastics

No leaders etc etc. All straight line tied to the lures

I keep it simple. Im too stupid to think any harder about it

#4 Trilene XL for ultralight crappie jigs, crickets, etc.
#10 Trilene XL for lighter smaller weightless lures/plastics.
#14 Trilene XL for heavier lures/plugs.
#17 Trilene XL for my big stick for cats/striper/occasional salt, with #25 floro leader if needed for durability/rocks/barnacles/toothy fish, etc.

Depending on application I use 30lb suffix 832 braid or suffix 12lb elite mono.

I have a frog setup and a snapper setup and both have 65lb 832.

I used to go strictly Seaguar InvizX for non-braid applications. I tried Yozuri Top Knot Mainline on one of my lines a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised/impressed. I now have it on 2-3 more. I'll likely be switching them all over time since it's half the price and performs the same if not a little better.

50# power pro slick, with or without a leader on most of my baitcasters. 15# big game mono on a couple.

30# slick with either a 10 or 15# leader on spinning for bass, specks or reds

10# big game on all my panfishing/catfishing stuff

Keep it simple and cheap. Trilene Big Game 8# test for almost everything freshwater.

The reason is that I can only bring a few setups with me in my kayak so the same rod I use for a buzzbait will be used for a Carolina Rig later in the day.

If I fish from the bank, I can carry another setup and I spoil myself with a reel filled with InvizX fluorocarbon line with a tungsten weight for soft plastics.

Power pro 30lb

I cant go back to anything else. It's so nice to have infinite horsepower and not worry about breaking shite off. Slickback pulled a 6' blacktip up next to the boat on my redfish rod with no leader before.

Braid>>>>>anything else.

I mostly saltwater fish but use the same line setup in freshwater. 30# braid with 12-18” mono or fluro leader

Mid crank - Fluor .10 diameter
Light on Diawa pixy - trilene XL 6lb

Spinning

braid 8 strand brand can vary
